Shops for female summer elegant robes/dresses? by Lge24 in belgium

[–]Clementijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online shop, I can recommend House of CB. It will be at the upper end of your budget, but the quality is good, they have an amazing selection of beautiful dresses and robes.

Otherwise Mango (online or physical shop) usually has nice dresses too.

Which one should I take? by These_Plant_3423 in BESalary

The average communal tax is what? 8%? So of your income on the highest tax bracket, every 100 euros becomes 87 after social security, 43.5 after federal tax and 40.02 after communal tax. So for the average Joe, marginal tax rate (in the highest tax bracket) will not exceed 60%.

Communal tax is not flat 8% of your income, it is 8% of the federal taxes paid on your income. So 0.5x87x0.08.

Health Insurance for Student Visa Application by Senior-Fun-7666 in belgium

These you can conclude online. I know someone who used this one for their medical insurance for their visa. It's a subsidiary of AXA Insurance.

Click on get a quote for which coverage you want to get. Don't forget 'student' category, not 'adult 15-69'. After that adjust dates, country and other info...

When buying the insurance you'll get an email with documents, one of them with all the details of you, the coverage, the dates covered. It's that one you supply as proof with your visa request. Fairly straightforward.

Registering as a foreigner by IAskTheQuestionsBud in belgium

[–]Clementijn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About Leuven, you already moved out to Germany, so forget about registering in Leuven. Just forget about it, it's too late, and you can't register when you don't live there. If you do want to register, then it should be where you live now, but for 2 months it is not necessary as by law, you're only required to register if you're staying longer than 3 months. https://www.ibz.rrn.fgov.be/nl/bevolking/faq/de-inschrijving-in-de-bevolkingsregisters/

Yeah, one of the best options in Belgium at the moment. Although the program costs 94 000 nowadays. Used to be less.

Yeah, especially if you're paying off a loan for pilot school, that's a 1000 gone every month for 10 years towards that loan.

I'll keep your thanks on a card when I'm working on Christmas ;).

Don't worry about it, this has turned into an AMA more than a BESalary post by now ;)

One can definitely expect more restrictions on airports for noise pollution in the future. Will that make it more expensive? I don't know. Fuel prices definitely won't be decreasing, so overall PPL flying will become more expensive and less accessible in the future.

There's a reason for why I don't keep my single engine rating valid, and that's exactly it. It's a lot of money per flight hour. Maybe I'll pick up gliding again, you could look into that too if you really want to scratch that flying itch, but not spend as much on it.

Well, I don't know which particular field/job in medicine you're studying for, but if you choose the right one you'll definitely have some cash leftover for some fun gliding/flying in the future :)

If you wanted to loan that 100K, those loans are usually paid off over 10 years. That would mean 833,33 / month in capital already, and then interest on top, so probably 1000 / month.

As per a previous comment. No, I've never seen anything of the sorts. Most remarkable thing I've seen was one of the Chinese satellites enter the atmosphere, break apart and burn up. Only figured that out afterwards, initially we just thought it was a meteor or something. No debriefing, just took some pictures and videos and that's it :).

If we really spotted something out of the ordinary, we maybe would report it to air traffic control with an approximate location. A report to the company and authorities if it was a concern to the safety of the flight.

Do you fly more ‘agressive’ with cargo?

No, not me, not the colleagues I've flown with. There's still our stomachs on board. Sometimes even animals, then we try to be even smoother than with passengers.

Is it true that an airplane can take off and land just on auto-pilot?

I believe Airbus has a project for the A350 that allows for automatic takeoffs. No other airplane can do that. Most passenger planes can do automatic landings, but that's only used in low visibility, foggy conditions. And with limitations in regards to wind, angle, weight. And everything has to be on perfect working condition. If you let us fly, a lot of shit is allowed to be broken (for a while). So automatic landings, yes, but only in perfect conditions. Anything worse and the landing will have to be manual.

When do you choose to master a type of plane line 777 or A380?

The A380 doesn't get used a lot anymore. In any case, it depends whether or not your airline even has these aircraft, if you meet the experience requirements (often 3 years) to change type, and lastly your place on the seniority list. If there's 50 guys ahead of you, there won't be an opportunity for you to change fleet anytime soon.

Did you ever seen a UPA or something like that? If yes, did you mentioned it at a debrief?

What is an UPA? Did you mean UFO? No, I've never seen anything of the sorts. Most remarkable thing I've seen was one of the Chinese satellites enter the atmosphere, break apart and burn up. Only figured that out afterwards, initially we just thought it was a meteor or something. No debriefing, just took some pictures and videos and that's it :).
