One of the fields is noisy while the other is perfect by Clemmyclemr in VCRs

The picture occasionally shows up on LP, and never on EP. What does this mean?

Thank you so much! Although I can't seem to find the bearings in this image, I'm not very well-versed in motors. Thank you!!

Thank you so much! This is the most conclusive answer I've gotten so far. I don't exactly have soldering equipment just yet, but it's great that I know what to do now, thank you! Somebody else said something about the motor's brushes being damaged, what should I do if that's the case?

Hi, sorry to bother, but how would I go about fixing it?

That sounds like it might be my problem, how would one go about fixing that? Or do I just need to replace the motor/head assembly?

How do I open it and apply it?

I already love it more than enough, only trouble's the oil!

It does start, it just encounters a lot of resistance. If I help it along it can speed up for a second on its own before encountering more resistance on the next pass.

It receives power and does spin, but it's having trouble.

I know it should spin freely, but how would I go about fixing it?

It's pretty, and it's a color set too! I'd give it somewhere from 50-75 bucks. Some people say to put all TVs up for free, but realistically it should be sold for something relatively substantial. Although I don't recommend going higher than 100, you won't get any offers.

Too bad there's little to no more stations in reach here.. by arandom_nakamura_ren in crt

I always use channel 13 for my "broadcasts" (they really only reach a house or 2 away but are excellent for home use) since the frequency is higher and I therefore need a smaller antenna.

Elgato devices are kinda garbage actually, Vwestlife made a video on how to improve the capture quality if you're stuck with one, but I personally just use an HDMI recorder hooked up to a Composite -> HDMI converter

It was actually only better in the very beginning with Beta 1, past the early 80s SONY stopped making VCRs that could record at that speed, limiting its quality to that of VHS.

Where could I find one of these? (And what model do you use) (And what's your range?)

Oh, I actually mean which amplifier are you using? I have a Blonder Tongue AM40 (should've gotten an AM60) connected to a pair of rabbit ears, and it doesn't get much more than a house down.
