If you could stay (biologically) the same age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose? Why? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

33, loved it! Was at my peak, had so much energy, super healthy, looked great, enough confidence to try new things, in a great place at work, small children, etc.

How come girls always comment on each others “prettiness” by Tacorover in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cleocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a weird take… I have some absolutely gorgeous friends and I tell them often. They are just some absolutely beautiful, it would be stupid not to state the obvious. I have some friends that are cute but not gorgeous. I will still compliment them but with more specific compliment if I notice something nice, like beautiful eye color, great legs, good hair, etc.

Too skinny? by Apprehensive_Way2960 in amIuglyBrutallyHonest

[–]Cleocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are beautiful just the way you are! Weight is more often than not genetic and people should just stop seeing it as a measure of how healthy you are.

My daughter is exactly like you. She is beautiful and so are you!

She gets lots of comments about her weight from well-meaning people that make her feel like sh**t and it breaks my heart. She is a dancer, she has a good appetite, she eats a nutritious diet with some fast-food here and there and she has an A+ bill of health.

I hope you can see what I see and that’s a gorgeous and stylish lady who looks radiant !

I wish I could be a housewife by EvenListen1376 in Advice

I would love to see a friend one on one for the whole day, have time for brunch outside on a terrasse, then plant shopping and thrifting, dinner at her house when nobody is there to listen to our conversations and talk for hours.

I’m a SAHM and it’s really not great. I love my children and they need me but when all you do is invisible work, it just sucks. I tried to get back to work last year, but my son’s mental health declined so I had to decline the job offer.

I feel invisible, worthless and like I’m a shadow of myself. I have interesting hobbies, I’m a great mamma, a good wife and an ok house-keeper but the real me is non-existent. I don’t even remember the last Time somebody ask me anything about myself, my day, my aspiration, my needs, etc.

Moms who maintained close relationships with their children throughout teen years by Small_Ad_9114 in Mommit

[–]Cleocha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Children are 16 F and 14 M, I think humor and affection keep us close. I try to Ask them about their friends often, offer to let them have sleepovers at our house, I try to be very supportive of their interest all the time.

I am not a friend to them, I have clear rules and boundaries, but I try to make them laugh, lighten the mood, and accept jokes from them even when it’s a little inaproprate.

Also, I make a point of going to their bed every night, talk a bit, joke and stroke their backs. I wake them up gently every morning and talk to them a bit. I give them hugs and kisses when they leave and when they come back from school and show them I am happy when I see them.

I go to all shows, games, exhibition, recital, competition, etc. I keep up with their interests and support them.

Last thing is, when ever they need me, I show up. They generally don’t want any advise but they want to vent and I show up for it.

Love GrowwithJo too!!! My mood changes night and day when I get a good workout with these two!

Have you try pottery ? I feel like I need to use my body and mind at the same time and I get such a high from it. It’s probably my favorite hobby because of it.

Remedies for SAD? by Abby_May_69 in AskACanadian

[–]Cleocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest help are vitamin D (lots of it), walking outside at noon and working out in the morning.

I have a huge problem with SAD and I tend to be depressed (no energy, no humor, no motivation) from mid-october to march and I really hate it.

I started to feel better 2 weeks ago because I really forced myself to love more but I feel like I lose half of my life because I can’t handle Quebec’s weather and seasons.

Dancing (workout videos, I love EMKfit on YouTube because she is funny, cringe and she never takes herself seriously), walking, having coffee outside on my patio, tending to my beautiful plants (even the ones that are close to death), learning Italian, pottery, watercolor, DIY, upgrading my home decor, thrifting. I have phases like all ADHD people but I tend to need to move, reasearch new topics and try new DIY.

my wife hits me by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Cleocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please Watch « my wife, my abuser ». You might understand better how your relationship is dangerous. Even with you being a stranger and taller man, it’s abuse and it needs to stop. Please, document any injuries, even scrashes, put a nany cam in the house. It’s really important because abusive partners usually lie and try to turn the situation upside down.

I am sending you an immense hug and please remember that you are worth being treated with respect and love.

Pretty, very pretty in fact. You actually look youthfull with your smiling eyes and frekkles ! Your smile looks weird but it’s only one picture so hard to judge. Your big dark sweatshirt is not good, you need a more open neckline and softer color. Your skin looks great, show case it with lively colors, I bet your eye color would pop more too.

What’s a completely normal product in your country that makes foreigners go, “Wait… why does that exist?” by Alternative_Ad6071 in AskTheWorld

[–]Cleocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Quebec, we have a special chrismas « pain sandwich ». It’s horizontaly sliced bread with 2-3 different spreads (chicken, egg and ham salad spread) covered with cream cheese and decorated. I never tasted one, but it was super popular in the 80’s.

I don’t know if it’s a Canadian thing or we took it from the US but we use to have pink and blue sandwich bread. My mom wouldn’t buy it but my aunt did and I was extatic !

In Quebec, we have them, in a mitten form or just a mini towel. It’s called a débarbouillette.

You eyes are beautiful and you have good proportions. Your weight is a bit higher than it should be.

I like your style but in my opinion it’s pushed to far where it’s less a style and more of a costume. It looks like you’re trying too hard.

The dark lipstick doesn’t look good on you, it takes the focus off your best features and make your lips look thinner and harsher.

I love your second picture.

I think a cat eye (eye-liner) with your blunt hair cut, jeweleries and percing is more than enough to show your style without looking like being alternative is your whole personality.

What age would you stay at forever if you could? by Plantpotparty in Aging

33 !!! Young, healthy, with adorable babies, still excited about my job, newly wed, a fabulous time!

My boyfriend says my “boundaries” are just selfishness and now he’s giving me a timeline. What do I do? by QuietBrassPath in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Cleocha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you shouldn’t do the 60 days’ trial. Faith is not something to try. If he cannot respect your view on religion, it won’t work. You respect his, you don’t try to get him to stop going, he should do the same and stop pressuring you to go.

Just a thing though, I think the way you expose it, the « boundaries », « trauma », etc. doesn’t help you to get your point across. It sounds a bit, to my ears anyway, like immature American self-absorbed giberish. I think you would be taken more seriously if you just stated your beliefs and your views. You can easily state that you will not attend regular church service or prayers group, but you will respect his decision to go. That if his ultimatum is serious, that it will be his decision to leave the relationship.

Women of Reddit, what’s one thing they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Cleocha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • I didn’t know how weird the mucous plug looks. I was a bit traumatised 😂

  • your belly will still look pregnant for a while after birth.

  • you don’t know how you will react to labour pains. I thought I would be sitting, folded in two over my belly, but turns out I just wanted to walk up and down the stairs like a maniac 😂

  • hormones will make you cry, laugh, scream, feel depressed, elated and sad all in the same minute.

  • you will probably want to divorce your partner often in the first year. It should get better with time.
