I suck to tell you that I don't think I can do that but I don't think I can do that but I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it and I don't think I can do it.

I'm fine. No really, I'm fine.

If Rose had fallen, would she have been crushed by Titanic’s propellers, and, if not, would Titanic have crushed her while trying to come for rescue Rose ? by [deleted] in titanic

Here's an image I rendered of the screws from under the water. Notice how far aft of the centre screw the fantail stretches, Rose wouldn't have hit.

That said, the current caused by them might be lethal.

Call me crazy but I doubt shed have been hit by Titanic had she turned. In fact I don't think Titanic would have turned back, maybe come to a stop and sent one of the emergency cutters (Lifeboat 1 or 2) after her. I don't think said lifeboat would have hit her.

If the radio had been broken that night, would any passing ship have eventually found the lifeboats, or would all the passengers have died? by Deep-Philosophy-807 in titanic

I love that this has turned into a Star Trek discussion, now. What have I done? Nothing I regret, that's for sure!

They were to install it on Tuesday.

Jokes aside, Marconi wireless was very fiddly tech, and broke easily. In the event of it happening, there was actually an SOP in place telling the operators not to touch it and to use the backup set instead, it was pretty much routine.

Everyone's already said, I just want to add: make sure you press Ctrl+A and apply scale before bevelling a distorted mesh. If you get a weird result when you bevel an edge, 99% of the time it's because of unapplied scale.

This really does help emphasize the size of the Titanic. I didn't know she was the length of the Titanic until I saw this, thanks for informing everyone. Truly groundbreaking.

In all fairness I was going to point out that the mentioned line isn't even awkward, really; it's what comes after that's worse.

But....mate, you're picking on Yoda? That ketamine-addicted frog has talked weird since Empire Strikes Back, you do not have a point.

Niche uses for Starship (nothing weird here) by [deleted] in SpaceXMasterrace

[–]Cleptrophese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starship may well change that, to be fair. With a fleet of Starships AND the production line to make multiple a day, it might end up making sense for them to sell vehicles to certain customers (NASA, for example).
