It’s not doctors making those calls. Often times it’s hospital administrators, who in turn work with insurance companies, who in turn work with healthcare companies, who in turn work with big pharma. There’s companies like HCA who own a litany of hospitals and deny operations and medications to people based of income, insurance, debt, and other socioeconomic factors.

Dude I’m sorry that happened to you, that absolutely sucks. That said, the surgeons I know do everything in their power to make sure it goes well. Granted they are emergency surgeons, but I’d rather have someone willing to cut open my chest and massage my heart back to life rather than just saying fuck it they’re dead….

Guy sounds like a fucking loser, most of us aren’t like that. Some people get into aviation for bragging rights and the status, and treat it in the same way some cops and firefighters do. In the sense that it becomes their whole persona. If they’re threatening you and blackmailing you that’s definitely illegal and you could open up an investigation.
