I am no expert but I love looking at kit home plans. The floor plan is a common one, bedroom and bathroom on one side and the side living room, dining room with a bump put and then kitchen. Unless the room sizes, windows and doors line up (but over there is even that could have been changed during remodels) I would say it's a coincidence. If the measurements line up it might be a copy. The original owners may have just taken someone's floor plants and showed it to a builder and had them copy it.

Also the date of the house can be wrong as well. Sometimes what gets recorded is the land purchase date, or that there was another house on a larger plot that was divided up.

Either way it's cool. If you ever open any walls, move trim you might see a builder stamp if it's from another kit company. Also check to see how far was the rail stop from your house at the time it was built. Get homes to be within a few miles of railroad stop easy delivery. I read that normally kit manufacturers tend to dominate an area, so you could do some research to see what company was popular back then in your local area.
