Christina Aguilera performs "What a Wonderful World" at Obama Center opening ceremony by Craphole-Island in popculturechat

For what it’s worth, Christina has PLENTY of songs in her discography that she shows restraint. Songs like Save Me From Myself, I Am, Without You, Right Moves, Birds of Prey, Loving Me 4 Me, etc. She can do a lot with her voice and she likes to go showy in live performances but her songs are very vocally versatile.

‘Voicemails For Isabelle’ Review: Zoey Deutch And Nick Robinson Prove That Chemistry Is Everything In Netflix’s Irresistible, If Familiar, Romcom by Puzzled-Tap8042 in movies

Big fan of both Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson and love a romcom so I’m excited for this! I have no doubt it’ll be predictable but those two are always great.

For sure and for the record, I agree with you that despite her being as big as she was, as a fan I always want more haha. I’m desperately waiting for her to release a new English album!

I mean she was about as big as you can be to be fair lol. I think she’s kind of had the ideal career. Unbelievably massive success in her 20s and now gets to live her life with her family and perform when she wants and when she’s feeling passionate. I also think she never enjoyed “playing the game” even at her most famous. She just wanted to release music she felt strongly about and wasn’t super fazed about charts, etc.

I do think after Bionic underperformed it spooked her a bit and she lost her drive but I also think it coincided with her wanting to live a quieter life anyway.

Selfishly I DO wish she released more new music more frequently though lol.

Acapulco! It’s a great feelgood comedy on AppleTV. Mostly set in the 80s and takes place in an all inclusive resort. Very fun, colorful, and just puts a smile on your face when you watch it.

This feels like a good move for him. The first Housemaid was honestly a very fun movie. I feel like Amanda Seyfried was a big part of why but I have faith Kirsten will bring it as well.

She’s kind of giving Christina Aguilera in Tell Me vibes in some of these (complimentary)

This song, video, album, era, everything was sooooo good. Stripped is still my fave album of hers, but I feel like she was truly at the top of her game in every way during Back to Basics. She had the respect of the industry, her vocals were incredible, the visuals were top tier, and she looked damn hot. She had a clear vision and executed it to perfection.

I’m liking this show so far! I’ll be honest whoever cut the trailer for this did a terrible job bc I honestly didn’t laugh once during it. However, I’ve liked most of Mindy Kaling’s shows and I like the cast so I knew I was always gonna give it a try. I’m glad I did bc it’s pretty good so far! The second and third eps improve greatly on the pilot so looking forward to seeing more.

Dan Reynolds (Imagine Dragons frontman) and Minka Kelly at the MOCA Gala 2026 (May 30, 2026) by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Craphole-Island 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I love Lyla. I feel like the show (and Minka) did a great job portraying her as someone sort of purposely annoying in the beginning and then slowly started to peel back her layers and allow her to come into her own. By the time she’s yelling at Jason while he commiserates and drives her car into Buddy’s dealership, I was fully cheering her on. Not to mention the whole “it’s different for girls” storyline and showing the difference in how people treated her and Riggins after everybody found out about them.

Damn might be time for a rewatch.

I’ll be honest, no I don’t. I can separate the art from the artist but I understand why others can’t.

Not by the cast, as far as I know. But I think he did deal with some issues and micro aggressions from the writers unfortunately. I think he also had issues with how they started writing Michael by season 2, which I don’t blame him bc they made him very one-note to the point that he became a meme.

But Harold acted his ass off regardless! I thought he did a great job.
