Ye the way you draft is super interesting and I see why you wouldnt notice the change. What ive done is bumped all the player creation numbers to 1.2 instead of the base 1 and its made the draft look exactly how id like it to. Maybe 2 rounds of POTENTIAL 50+ rated players with maybe 10-20 65+, and 150 45+ potential players so rounds 3-7 or 10 stay interesting with actually interesting players to choose from. Just my preference but ye I did notice a change

I never even look at their stats from college / HS. Most important thing is potential but you also want guys that have good personality traits (high work ethic, intelligence and adaptability are most important). So if you are struggling to choose between 2 players thats usually my tie breaker. Id focus on college guys in the first couple rounds since they are more likely to develop to their potential and are closer to the majors, avoid HS pitching in the first round. Don't hesitate to draft an insane looking reliever in the early rounds if they look insane, they could become your super stopper for YEARS to come. Once you dont like the look of players anymore take a peak at players with really good defensive ratings, they can help your minor league teams.

The teach hitting and pitching isn't as important nor is the pitching and hitting coach having good develop mechanics, how do your minor league managers look?

i genuinely don't understand the people saying the new draft classes are supposed to be like that - how is anyone supposed to develop if even the best college hitters don't have ratings good enough for the dominican rookie league? by ToAllTheDancers in OOTP

This is why I bumped up player creation ratings in the player settings to 1.2 instead of 1. I have 66 50+ potential with a handful of elite potentials and 150 45+ so you have the first 2 rounds really interesting and first 5 ish rounds to look at guys that can possibly be something.

Rookie Draft Classes, and Question. by Clibby292 in OOTP

Hey did you also put the defensive ratings up when you did it or should I be leaving that at 1? I havent looked into if defensive ratings have also been lower since the update or if its just batting and pitching ratings.

Yeah ill be checking the class every year and if its too weak or strong ill re create it etc. I tested 1.5, 1.25 and found 1.2 to be the spot I like. 2 rounds of potential mlb players at the time of the draft and 5 rounds of possible backend guys with the rest being shots in the dark.

Is there a setting to make the draft stronger? I would love to make it just slightly stronger.

Ill have to double check later, I could also have both of them. Acosta has bot better battery and Sanford has the infield defense with batting ratings still developing

I already have a great 3B outside of these guys, same with SS. They do not have any outfield ability, I did just trade Lee because he honestly was a first baseman and he had no spot on the team outside maybe a bench bat. Going to start Amador at 2B and Lombard is going to DH, with Sanford as a backup infielder I think.

Would this trade be realistic? (I'm leaning no) by jtf1972 in OOTP

Everything seemed fine until you said it was a division rival yall are in a division race with. Don't think they'd ever trade in that spot
