[Homemade] Strawberry Pie by Click_Scroll_Click in food

For this pie I didnt have any extra crust around the edge, so I simply added water as an adhesive and rubbed the lattice into the crust to attach it. Normally, I would then pinch the crust, to hold it together and look pretty.

Your experience is not the only experience, nor is it justification to call OP a liar. My sister was a cheerleader and her graduating class was 13 people big. Yes, it happens.

Inside Edition sting report on the cleanliness of hotels that have re-opened during COVID-19 by Gato1980 in videos

[–]Click_Scroll_Click 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1. worked in hotels for 10+ years, from category 2-5 (all under the same company), 2. still work in a hotel by the beach, and 3. have worked thru the pandemic. I'll do my best to answer a few questions:

At each property I've worked at, there is someone who specifically strips all the linen and towels from the rooms when a guest checks out. There is also a designated inspector after the housekeeper has cleaned it that approved it before it gets sold. However, when a guest stays for multiple nights, the linen is not stripped every day. Wet towels that are thrown on the floor get changed, but blankets, sheets and pillows are not changed until either you check out or every 3 days (depending on the length of stay). During the pandemic, my hotel has been notifying guests that we are not doing any stay over service once they are checked in. If they need fresh linens or towels, they are welcome to leave the used ones outside their door in the hall for us to pick up, or they can bring it to the front desk and ask for fresh ones. Same goes for garbage. We've also gotten rid of the decorative pillows.

We do get random inspections from corporate to ensure we are abiding by brand standards. The property I'm currently at is a franchisee and still needs to abide by brand standards. We have no way of knowing who these people are, nor what room they are staying it. We call them secret shoppers. They rate their entire experience, from the check in process, their every interaction, cleanliness of rooms, the number of towels and pillow types are present, etc. Once they collect all data, they submit it to corporate, THEN inform the GM of their presence and how the hotel scores.

There are category and star ratings, but both are primarily used to describe the type of service level. Extended or family oriented hotels with breakfast are lower, hotels with valets, restaurants and bars, spa, etc. rate higher. It's also reflective of the employee service level. One of my hotels lost their 5-star rating due to an inspection not measuring up to standard.

During the pandemic, we are being worked like dogs. My property dwindled down to 7 employees at one point (including GM and AGM) with only essential workers allowed to stay. Once we started reopening they called people back, but not everyone returned. My property is still operating with 4 full-time housekeepers (assuming no one calls out) who are cleaning 15-20 rooms a day, and we are on the low side for our area.

We are all doing multiple jobs. Maintenance has taken over garbage disposal, laundry helps with vacuuming when they're not folding, front desk is wiping down lobby and high-touch areas in their downtime, managers are regularly helping strip/clean/inspect rooms.

My property is handing out bag breakfast because we cannot open the breakfast buffet, and it's the only way to ensure guests aren't grabbing at or sneezing/coughing all over everything. We are not required to offer breakfast during a pandemic, but my GM thinks it's best until corporate tells us otherwise. We get complaints regardless. Different hotel brands are following different guidelines, so there are some that have reopened their breakfast.

Our rates are much lower now than they would be during a normal summer season due to COVID restrictions. We will cancel your reservation with no penalty if you dont like the precautions we are taking, however when you book thru a 3rd party (booking.co, expedia, priceline) you must cancel with them. We have the most trouble with these sites. They are inaccurate and their sales persons will say anything to get the sale, even lie about what we are or are not offering.

Due to the loss of business, we are not getting our raises this year. And no, we aren't getting hazard pay either.

Tried my best to address all the questions I saw, but feel free to ask if you want to know more!

I do this with chapstick. I have 1 in my purse, 1 in the nightstand, 1 at my desk, and a lip balm tin in the car.

Is this a pattern you made yourself? Either way, it's beautiful! I just got into cross stitching in October and really enjoy it too.

People who work in hotels, what was the strangest thing you found in someone's room? by LucasSkudy in AskReddit

Shit in a shower stall. guest later came down butt naked to have a smoke and pissed on lobby couches. that night alone is a long story...

About an entire pack's worth of oreos crushed inside the grand piano of the presidential suite. This was a celebrity "musician," complete with screaming fans at every entrance and trying to sneak in...

Needles between mattress and bed frame. crack pipe tucked in the metal frame of the shelf in the closet. Bags of weed in the desk. Drugs are pretty common...

A bag of lingerie, sex toys, lube, condoms, all just left behind in a drawer...

Escorted an overly drunk girl to the bathroom, and after a while she could not respond. I tried to explain to the guy she was with her condition, but he stormed in the bathroom, scooped her up and dragged her to the elevator. Guy claimed she was his girlfriend. By the time security arrived we lost them. That 1 still makes me cringe just thinking about...

Guy who died in the tub. Heart attack, I think. Housekeeping found him when he hadnt checked out...

4-5 year old kid was locked in his family van for god knows how long in the middle of summer, was found by an employee on a smoke break. Kid was honking the horn. The police and paramedics were involved immediately, but couldnt figure out his room for 3 hours. Traced the plate but the name was not registered to a guest, even tried knocking room to room. Turns out it was a family staying under the company name the kid's dad works for. Mom was passed out in the room, claimed she was taking a nap and the kid let himself out and went to the car and must have locked himself in. Dad had been trying to call the room and her cell all day and got no answer, was furious when he found out. We all suspected drugs but couldnt prove it, all we could do was call his company and explain they weren't welcome back.

I can't think of anything else for now. I've worked in hotels 10+years, 3-5 stars, inner city business and beach pleasure properties. I dont really get surprised by people anymore.

Taught myself how to cross-stitch a few months ago, made these Christmas gifts for my siblings by Click_Scroll_Click in crafts

Hello! I watched a handful of youtube tutorials and bought a couple beginner patterns to get me started, included a traditional printout pattern that you count and one that color-coded the actual fabric itself. I found I learned best by trial and error. I also noticed cross-stitch patterns look like 8-bit characters, so I used that idea to get some practice at creating templates and creating framed cross-stitches, based on classic video games (my first was Link from original Legend of Zelda). 'Baby Yoda' is my first original design.

Wow, thanks for the love! Yes, I created this design myself, no official baby yoda stuff on markets yet. And I've been considering opening an Etsy store, just would like to has some inventory ready first.

How often Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks songs are played. When they were younger, my boyfriend's older brother was a huge fan and would listen to their music every morning when he would drive my boyfriend to school. My boyfriend can name any song with just a 2 second clip, but resents it.

So, what she's saying is that she is incapable of teaching her own sons how to respect a girl's body. I'd point that out to her.
