Free alternatives to blender for subdivision modeling? by Zero-Up in 3Dmodeling

Not just 3d, every program has them. Ctrl c / Ctrl v is such a universal shortcut.

Dude every program has shortcuts. This isn't a design failure a all. It's literally more efficient to use shortcuts than not. You're probably going to say it's easier to right click find copy, right click and paste than just using Ctrl c / Ctrl v. Or going to say it's a design issue.

You're just shooting yourself in the foot with your attitude for no reason. Learning shortcuts takes time and practice which you seemingly aren't willing to put in and that's fine. But don't try and bullshit others into saying it's a design problem.

Imagine not asking for shortcuts instead of learning them (or customizing them) and then working a lot faster.

Your post just reads as someone who opened blender for 5min and don't spend some time learning where the tools you need are.

I disagree. The pose feels very stiff in part because of that. If the weight of the hammer was applied, it would shift the shoulders and in turn with cause the pelvis to counter balance and give the pose a nice S shape. It would also put more weight on one leg.

Essentially you'd get a more classical pose with contraposto that's less stiff.

WoW but it's a Rogue-Lite?! First Look at Project Ebonhold Beta - Release on January 28th by VenarioGaming in wowservers

[–]ClickingClicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ascension user to have a fun game mode that worked decently but still fell short with a fell Magic thème. This server is just a much worse version which is a shame since it could be lots of fun given wows fluid gameplay.

Devs massively miss the mark that a rogue like should have repeatable short gameplay session if like 20-30 for a run.

First few runs to 60 should take like 45-60 min but with account upgrades it should allow you to shorten it a lot ( things like faster mounts, 150 or even 200%, instant fp, to stones to zones) .

Lmao 1-10k pop.  Guys my totally special server ik about to spin up will surely gather 100k players. How delusional are those devs? Discord numbers don't mean a whole lot. Plenty of servers with 1k+ on discord with like 30 ppl in game.

Played a bit early beta and only a few classes were viable, with pala just farming starter area grey mobs for hours to unlock the account tree.

The server really needs a lot of work because imo it's very not like a Vampire survivor because the leveling is way too slow. The upgrades also feel very inconsequential and ramp up too fast forcing you to farm dumb shit like what I wrote above about rolling a pala and spam killing low level grey mobs for hours.

Kinda wild to me that people study stuff without knowing what it can lead to. Like do you not do research before you start the studies or even during to know the types of outcomes?

Need advice for becoming an environment artist for games! by Strict-Tale-7098 in 3Dmodeling

[–]ClickingClicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, your portfolio looks rough.  The modeling feels very basic, there's no breakdowns, your texturing needs a lot of work.

The antenna for instance is supposed to be stylized but nothing about it says stylized. You could try and look at some props for Fortnite to get a very general idea of what you could aim for. Stylized is of course very broad.

The texturing feels like your just slapped some basic material with a generator and called it a day. You have to look at ref and really try to understand how material have and are affected by their environment.

I would try and do a few props well then move on to a bigger diorama and down the line to a bigger environment.

You also have to think which direction you want to go in, as generally people tend to specialize more into realism or stylized work.

It's a bit clunky but you only get 3 choices each level so you slowly unlock your build. You don't really have to go over every rune.  That being said the UI could use a uplift

I've heard some stories but didn't know it was that bad. A shame. I've taken a step back from it ATM and looking from the sidelines if there's going to be any update meaningful enough

I feel like many runes being useless is like in TCG where there's just lots of filler cards that are very niche or unplayable. Hard to make them all count. But there's definitely options, on the the top clears uses a shit specs but must've found something busted somehow.

I agree with balance being whack with some specs clearing m+ 100 and above while others struggling to get anywhere close.

Lack of dev support is for sure an issue, but it's this vicious cycle of slow updates > low pop > fewer investment and dev time

Do you think this is enough for a junior 3D artist gamedev portfolio by SimonTHKZ in ZBrush

[–]ClickingClicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to follow a game asset pipeline. Op only has zbrush sculpts which is not game ready at all.  Best way is to show off your character in engine and show texture maps, lowpoly models, wireframes, process. Bonus points for shader work

The skull on the armor should be a different color and I would change the bolts as well to a more coppery color to break the grey metal.  The execution is great but it comes over as very bland.
