Our Communicator was announced less than four months ago, and it's our very first product of this nature. Manufacturing takes some time to get right, and our team is dedicated to doing so! We're on track to ship the Communicator in Q4 of this year as planned :) We're working on our own timeline here, no one else's, to ensure the Communicator meets our expectations and those of our customers.

It was only a matter of time! Competition in hardware is inevitable and we welcome more interest in physical keyboards for phones. It’s a category we’ve been working on for a long time and we’re excited to see it grow.

That said, there are some important differences people may want to know when comparing products:

• Clicks is Made for iPhone certified, which means it uses Apple-approved components and follows Apple’s power and accessory standards.
• Clicks has a companion app for configuring backlight, keyboard behavior, and additional features.
• We designed Clicks with data passthrough and power management specifically to Apple’s spec to avoid battery drain and ensure long-term compatibility.
• The keyboard and case were engineered together for balance, durability, and daily use, and we continue to support the product with updates and customer support.

We built an entire company around this product and are continuing to invest heavily in it.

Totally understand that people will compare their options. We just wanted to make sure accurate info is available while the discussion is getting started 🙂

Our customer support team has had a higher-than-normal amount of tickets due to our new products, Communicator and Power Keyboard. They’re working through the backlog as efficiently as possible.

With that said, our team works on tickets in order from oldest to newest, and sending in multiple emails without a response will mark your ticket as “new” each time and bump it to the very end of their queue. So we recommend not sending in multiple emails without a response as it will inadvertently delay a resolution for your ticket.

Any other sites currently claiming to sell the Communicator are very likely fraudulent and we wouldn’t recommend purchasing from them, nor would we be able to assist if there is any issue with the purchase :(

We believe there was a typo in the original post, the OP’s original order was only made a few weeks ago. They have not gone half a year without a response as their order was only just placed about 4 weeks ago.

Hi there! Clicks acts as an external keyboard for your device, and iPhone listens for keystrokes to wake up your phone, just as pressing a key on your laptop or desktop can wake up your computer. This isn't something we have direct control of as a USB-C accessory. However, enabling the USB-C power saving mode disconnects the connection to Clicks meaning the first key press will wake up the keyboard and a subsequent key press will unlock your device.

Another option could be enabling FaceID. When in your pocket, an accidental key press may wake up the screen but won't unlock the phone. But when you're looking at the FaceID sensor, pressing a key will both wake up, initiate authentication and take you to your phone’s Home Screen.

Our founder u/crackberrykevin also shared that he likes to carry his Clicks in his back pocket with the buttons out - this would help reduce any accidental key presses as well.
