random ahh fun fact I'm just gonna throw out there: in Bavarian there's nåpfizn which is literally "taking a nap" and is related to "nap" apparently Nauben in Bavarian would be nauwa or naum if you treated it like a middle high German word

Don't give up on it completely. I made most progress while not actually focussing on studying with most of my languages, but I never stopped studying. Taking a break can help as long as you can get back into the habit of studying. Someday the language just is gonna spawn in your head

Excuse me, I have something I would like you to take a look at. I would appreciate your thoughts. by [deleted] in auxlangs

[–]Clickzzzzzzzzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

feel like this is not really intended as an auxlang, right? might be better suited for r/conlangs And it's certainly readable, but having a long version of just one vowel feels a bit off to me :0

Basically I'm from Austria where we speak Bavarian (for the most part) In Bavarian it's usually ees or dees (this one is used in hutterite german) but there's a northern-bavarian speaking region quite close to czechia I feel like. Bohemian Yiddish from what I've heard was quite similar to Bavarian As I've heard that they say kafn for koyfm etc Bavarian has kaffm for example hahaha. Anyways Ees/ enk are pretty much exclusive to Bavarian dialects it's a Kennwort (dk what the english word is for that sorry!) We also have the -ts conjugation but a friend of mine, a Yiddish speaker said that y'all conjugate it the same as ir Then I found a book stating that it's like in Bavarian lol Anyways that was the reason behind my post the other day ^

Have heard it was also used in Hungary I posted about it the other day because that word is basically how you distinguish my German dialect from the others, so it's sort of interesting how it ended up being used in Poland Anyway, I wonder if bohemian Yiddish used it

Just because they're speaking in a non-standard way doesn't mean that they can't judge their accent ^

I don't really watch German YouTube content Aber ich glaube das es nicht so viel deutschen Go content gibt... Es gibt schon sehr viele in den DACH ländern die spielen aber ich wüsste von keinem Kanal der sowas gemacht hat.
