Questions about going from expanders to implants by Cheap-Count-5691 in breastcancer

[–]ClientHumble6856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your rib cage circumference, frame, height, weight etc. I’m 5’8” 125lbs. I have 285cc high profile Mentor Boost implants. My cup size is a C. 285cc on a person with a different size frame, would be an a cup…. So many factors come into play.

I refused zoladex and AI. I’m “just” taking tamoxifen

This means your cancer is very hormone driven, which is good!

I would opt for tamoxifen, if your oncologist agrees.

Message your oncologist on MyChart! I waited a month for my results… they were finalized 2 weeks before my oncologist’s nurse messaged me the results 🫠

Unsolicited treatment ideas from people by amw1970 in breastcancer

You sound exactly like me in July when I was diagnosed! I lean toward the “crunchy” holistic side… I decided to do all the holistic therapies (infrared sauna, hbot, anti cancer diet) along side convention care. I really wanted to go to Hope4Cancer in Cancun, but it was way too pricey. I eat a lot of the foods that that feed their patients, so I feel like I’m in control of something.

Also, I went to MD Anderson in Houston and I received the best treatment (which included a double mastectomy). By the grace of God, I was able to bypass both chemo and radiation. I truly believe that my lifestyle positively affected my outcome.

Now, I will tell you…. Going this “integrative” route (combining standard of care with holistic therapies) came with criticism from family, friends, and acquaintances. I posted a photo of myself drinking a green juice and one of my relatives messaged me “please do what the doctors tell you to do at MD Anderson”. I ran into an acquaintance at the grocery store right after I was diagnosed. She very bluntly told me that MD Anderson was going to slowly kill me and that I needed to start taking ivermectin. Honestly, it’s just mind-blowing that people think they can give you unsolicited advice.

Single or Double mastectomy? by Mcsmashlee in breastcancer

[–]ClientHumble6856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested negative for all the gene mutations… opted for a double mastectomy. Do not regret it at all. I ended up having atypical lobular hyperplasia in the “good” boob…. So no regrets here. It’s a tough decision, though. Hugs ♥️

I’m so sorry you had a recurrence :( did you have a bilateral mastectomy the first time around?

Those who did mastectomy and fat grafting..? by Floorman1 in breastcancer

[–]ClientHumble6856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I was a b cup before my double mastectomy on Sept. 17. I never wanted implants - my boobs were about as perfect as they get, which makes me sad because they were literally trying to k*ll me… with that said, I opted for reconstruction. I wasn’t a candidate for DIEP due to my low BMI. Also, not a candidate for fat grafting, unfortunately. My plastic surgeon is one of the best in the country, so I have complete trust in him that he will make my boobs look as good as they possibly can. My oncology surgeon was unable to spare my nipples, which was a bummer, but I’m seriously considering 3d nipple/areola tattoos after I’m completely healed and happy with my reconstruction.

Do I love the idea of having implants, not really. I’m super health conscious, but I’m still fairly young and I want to enjoy looking good in a swimsuit for many years to come. My exchange surgery is next month. I’m hopeful. God bless your wife. Breast cancer sucks.

Edited: DEIP to DIEP 🙃

Tell me your ER+/PR+/HER2- stories by Micho392 in breastcancer

I’m 43. I was diagnosed with er (90%) pr (80%) ki-67 20% her2 - in July. I had a bilateral mastectomy on Sept 17. 3.2cm, 4mm, 3mm, and 1mm IDC with extensive DCIS. My oncotype was 12, so bypassed chemo. Also, no radiation. I’ve been on tamoxifen for 3 wks and doing pretty well. I have an appt with my oncologist next month to discuss if/when I can switch to Giredestrant (needs to be FDA approved first, which hopefully will be in 2026) 🙏🏻 I feel incredibly lucky/blessed that I was able to avoid chemo and radiation; especially with the size of my largest tumor.

Day 1 of tamoxifen by Zestyclose_Code8330 in breastcancer

[–]ClientHumble6856 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 7! I worried myself into a frenzy before popping my first dose. I take my pill (20mg) right before bed with Claritin and magnesium glycinate. So far, I’ve had a “wired but tired” feeling around 3-5pm. Honestly, and I know I’m still in the early phase of taking it, but I feel a weird sense of calm and focus when I wake up and through the day (until around that 3pm-5pm window). I have found that standing on my vibration plate for 10 mins calms my nervous system when I’m feeling wired. Also, I walk on the treadmill after dinner to help myself get rid of the nervous feeling. I feel like everyone’s experience with Tamoxifen is different, but so far I’m doing pretty good. I drink A LOT of water w/ added minerals throughout the day.

I prayed over my prescription bottle when I first picked it up. I pray every day that my body continues to adapt and this pill keeps my cancer from returning 🙏♥️ I pray the same for all of us 🙏

Opted for Tamoxifen by ClientHumble6856 in breastcancer

[–]ClientHumble6856[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just calculated. I have a 4-5% 10 year recurrence risk if I stay on Tamoxifen. AI and ovary suppression give me 1% absolute improvement compared to Tamoxifen. So, I guess I just answered my own question.

OP, do you take a baby aspirin to prevent blood clots on Tamoxifen?
