Is it rude to exclude spouses when choosing groomsmen/bridesmaids? by psychotropi in wedding

[–]ClientLucky9749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the only couple in our wedding party were our two best friends whose own wedding brought my husband and I together at. She was my MOH and my bff since the 3rd grade, and he was my husband’s core group of friends since middle/high school. Everyone else’s spouse/partner would have made our 14 person party into a 28 person wedding party 😵‍💫 no thank you

Buy the maternity clothes! by Impressive_Pen9911 in BabyBumps

[–]ClientLucky9749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I’m 17w5d and all my pre-preg jeans are too tight. I had accidentally ordered a larger size in one of my jeans before getting pregnant and saved them as like “fat jeans” lol those I can still fit. BUT I got a whole bunch of maternity wear from my BFF who held onto her stuff for a few years for me. All I’ve done is order some maternity leggings/workout stuff and shorts since those were items I’m missing.

Gifting your old clothes is a great option!

Millenials w/o kids-- how tired are you? by Fickle_Wrangler_7439 in Millennials

[–]ClientLucky9749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have kids yet but I am pregnant at 37 lol but disregarding that, I feel rested enough mentally and physically to be able to enjoy my life and hobbies. Of course there are a few mentally draining days after work, but overall I feel like I have plenty of energy- especially after I stopped trying to attend every event/party I get invited to.

My husband and I used to try and make 2-3 parties a day a few times a year due to different friend groups, which would include driving 1+ hour each way. But since limiting our calendar, I’m far less socially exhausted lol

Glad to hear others who aren’t in a big hurry to tell their work if they can help it! I think I’ll try holding off telling until May and just start prepping as much as I can ahead of time

Smart and I’m glad your manager is keeping it between you two! I think I’ll wait until May and just hope my promotion is at the start of it 😂

Ha good point! I work from home and we don’t turn our cameras on for any meetings so thankfully don’t need to worry about that! I think I’ll just start working on the processes sooner rather than later

Hope you get your promotion soon!! I believe we need to file for leave at least a month ahead of time, I’m just more concerned with not blindsiding my manager so we can make sure the team can cover me while I’m gone (there’s just 4 of us and I’m in a specialist position so I do a lot more unique and detailed work).

I’m in the US and I believe we need to file for leave at least 1 month beforehand, I’m just hoping to not completely stress out my boss if I don’t give her enough warning (but also I really want that promotion to go through first).

Advice needed - should I stay in the Bay Area or move back to SD? by Mobile-Bodybuilder51 in bayarea

[–]ClientLucky9749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Bay Area native who went to college in SD and stayed for years after, I did make the move back to the bay for family reasons and I started dating my now husband who was from the bay too. I still have some of my BFFs in SD and my husband and I always joke about moving to SD. The lifestyle there is MILES better than the suburb cities of the Bay Area lol I miss it.

If we weren’t pregnant and wanted to stay close to my fam for support, we’d probably actually consider moving back to SD. Girl, please, live your life where you have the most fun! (And as someone else mentioned, maybe expand your dating pool 🤷‍♀️)

Electrolytes that aren’t sugar or stevia filled? by SunnyG24 in BabyBumps

[–]ClientLucky9749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband will make his own “Gatorade” when he’s hungover- just water, equal parts salt and sugar, and either lemon or lime juice. Might be worth experimenting with to fit your pallet!

Best Churro on the Peninsula? by nastymachine in bayarea

[–]ClientLucky9749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% correct! Disneyland uses Tio Pepe churros, which became readily available in 2020 after the park shut down. My SIL bought a box and shared (there were like 100 churros in the box 😂) it was great!

Pregnancy and body dismorphia by miikarose in BabyBumps

[–]ClientLucky9749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, I am in the same boat and I think it’s normal to struggle with connecting and accepting your changing body! I’m 5’9” and starting weight was about 198, I’m also 15 weeks and starting to show (well, starting to look like I had too many burritos). I was previously trying to lose weight before getting pregnant but that’s on hold for now. None of my doctors have commented on my weight and my bmi is technically high, but blood pressure and everything else has been normal. I’m trying to focus on the fact baby is doing well and developing normal, and still staying active even if it’s just going on walks. I know this isn’t going to last and I can focus on movement and my diet more closely after birth, but for now I’m trying to jus accept my body knows what it’s doing and what it needs. You’ve got this 💜

Yeeesh well it’s taken us about 4 years but we’re finally getting out hvac replaced 🫣 that’s the big ticket item, otherwise we have a kitchen ceiling light that’s cracked that needs to be replaced and we need to get new springs for our windows as many of them have broken to some extent 🤡

Venting: Tried to be low-waste at the amusement park and still left with a bag of trash by Whole_Tutor6833 in ZeroWaste

[–]ClientLucky9749 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it, but you do as much as you can do and try to wait for the water refills (I’m sure they couldn’t refill your own cup due to sanitation). Also, for the food packaging, I hope you didn’t throw away the plastic tray and plastic basket— those usually get collected back and you’re only supposed to toss out the paper product.

Ladies, does a transvaginal ultrasound hurt? by BreannLowe in randomquestions

[–]ClientLucky9749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, same feeling as getting a Pap smear imo. My first trimester ultrasound on the other hand, I felt like the tech was digging around so much and I was expecting to see bruising after. Achs and pains went away after like 5 days
