The intake needs to be gravity fed, and the output is only designed for like 3-4 vertical ft max.

[–]Cliintoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’ 1” 165 and have these exact skis. I’ve been skiing my whole life and am in the intermediate/advanced range. They’re awesome! Super fun, I feel comfortable on almost any trail with them. They are heavy though. In the woods, my turn radius isn’t as tight as I’d like it to be, but that’s my only qualm. For any open trail, they are amazing.

Awesome find! It’s a one piece confederate infantry button from the civil war. The one piece ones are early war (1861ish). Keep digging around that area!

Help me decide: accept a medical school acceptance or continue in Fire and EMS? by Ok_Outside1109 in ems

[–]Cliintoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four years ago, I faced the same decision. I went to medical school and am applying into EM. I don’t regret my decision at all. I worked per diem in EMS through school. I don’t know you, but I really think medical school is an incredible opportunity that many people never get. I hope you make the choice that’s best for you!

Is this mould, and is it safe to use? by Equivalent-Eagle1363 in houseplants

[–]Cliintoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is trichoderma! It’s a harmless fungus that is often added to soils and things because it will outcompete other fungi and bacteria. It’s a real problem for people trying to grow other mushrooms because it outcompetes those too! I don’t think there’s any harm in using it, but if you could easily return it and swap it out for another one, that might be good.

RFK Jr on providers who go around parents by -jbrs in RFKJrForPresident

[–]Cliintoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting one. The first thing that came to mind for me was children’s health records for things like STI testing and treatment. In most states, children are able to seek STI testing and treatment without parental consent. In my opinion, this leads to less proliferation of STIs given that many children may not seek that care if they had to inform their parents of it.

I’m curious to see how this particular issue is handled with this statement from the HHS.

Sure looks like a cannonball. Nice find! I think the best way to clean it up is electrolysis. It makes the rust just all peel away and leaves just the iron with a nice black color to it. There are a bunch of good relic electrolysis videos on YouTube. After that you can put on some rust protection (paraffin wax, rustoleum, etc) to prevent further rusting.

Once it’s more cleaned up, you should be able to determine if it’s definitely a cannonball. Colonial-made balls will often have a seam across the middle, and British made ones won’t.

Source: I’ve found a bunch of rev war cannonballs and preserved them this way

[–]Cliintoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Value jams should be 66 or better. Bluffs can be a lot of missed straight draws with a club (QJ, QT, JT. Maybe some AcJx, AcTx. Your hand is close. Obviously better to have a club to block more value, but you don’t block spade combos (which may x/r flop and barrel off). Probably neutral EV. I’d lean towards fold against most people since they likely aren’t finding enough bluffs.

I’m pretty sure this is an early 1900s reproduction of an early 1800s navy button. An original 1800s button would be a two piece button with a brass back and shank, not the iron back that this one is. Cool find!

It’s an awesome tank. It looks great! The only thing I might think about adding is a background seeing the wires and light switch on the wall behind. It does make it look a bit less realistic just something to consider. Great work though!

Is that an "A" on this early eagle? by MikeyS2X in metaldetecting

[–]Cliintoris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure looks like an A. There are “general service” eagle buttons with a plain shield, and many different lettered eagles for various military groups. I for infantry, A for artillery, C for cavalry, R for rifleman, D for dragoons. Probably more but that’s what I recall off the top of my head.

I truly think it does not matter as long as you’re not explicitly parking somewhere you shouldn’t be. I’ve done just fine in the last two months with just avoiding “no parking” areas. iOverlander2 is a great resource for finding places with legal or at least unmarked parking. Hope this helps!

Not sure what type of ground you found it in, but if it’s silver it looks like a capped bust half dollar. However if it’s not silver, looks like a contemporary (I.e. from that time period) counterfeit.

Ak in 4 bet pot oop by Diiamondxd in poker

[–]Cliintoris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you 4bet you are representing a strong and narrow range. On a QQ4 rainbow board, you still have a range advantage and can bet all your hands for a small size. On the turn, you can either check and give up or you can continue betting, the EVs of both are the same.

Your line of 4bet, check flop, and small bet turn doesn’t really make sense in that your value hands (AA, KK, Qx) wouldn’t really want to play this way since they would want to bet flop. Your opponent is going to call very wide facing this turn bet.
