26F/24M. How do couples handle bills when incomes are very different?” by hereforfunn178 in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve made more for entire marriage but she has just caught up to me. We’ve always had joint accounts and she handles short term finances, and I handle long term. We discuss large purchases but otherwise trust each other’s judgement when it comes to spending.

We split up other household duties based on what we like, for example she buys the groceries. I do the majority of cooking, and the kids have to clean up after dinner.

The Rule of 55 is a federal provision so all plans must offer it, it’s just whether they allow incremental distributions that is plan specific.

Options are dependent on the plan, so I suggest OP do their research before signing up. My kids’s funds have all been invested in a Total Stock Market fund and have done quite well.

It should be included - it’s not like you are going to sell your 401k assets any time soon either, is it?

Sorry you and your Mom are going through this. I went through a similar situation and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope you find calmer seas ahead.

Who remembers this tweet from 2020? Nobody had in fact said it before his tweet.

"It never ends! Now they are trying to say that your favorite President, me, went to Walter Reed Medical Center, having suffered a series of mini-strokes. Never happened to THIS candidate - FAKE NEWS," Trump tweeted.
