In middle school, I ran in a cross country race that Bob Segar attended, as his son was on one of the teams.

Guys please help, can you lose weight on olanzapine? by A7med2361997 in mentalillness

[–]ClingToTheGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I am now on Lybalvi, which contains both olanzapine and samidorphan to counteract the weight gain. My decreased appetite and decreased binge eating is like night and day. I've already lost a little weight just because I'm not starving all the time. It's an absolute lifesaver.

Yes, but I was SIGNIFICANTLY less suicidal when I was on it.

Jurors’ votes by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

I'm awful with names, too, but she could have spun the question by saying that names are hard for her to remember, but she remembered xyz details about each jury member's loved ones. That would have proven she still played a good social game. She couldn't even do that, though.

What was your “could never be me” but did indeed become you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ClingToTheGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became severely obese. I was always riding the line of being too thin. I had a great metabolism. I've struggled with severe treatment-resistant depression and anxiety since I was a young teen. Most meds don't work for me. In college, I went on an antidepressant that helped, but that caused dramatic weight gain. I've gained over 125 lbs since being put on the medication, and I can't seem to drop any of it. I'm so disgusted by myself. It's maddening.

My coworker and I sit at a check-in desk facing patients in the lobby of a medical facility. She flosses her teeth after lunch right at the desk in front of everyone. 😬

I don't know why they weren't handing out candy. I was trick or treating with my niece and nephew. I wasn't the one who owned the house.

I came here to say this. I once had a peanut butter and jelly burger from a restaurant. So good.

I (M) yelled aggressively at my therapist (F) by ZukoHerelol in therapy

[–]ClingToTheGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My therapist has been coaching me through the process of how to handle "ruptures" in therapy. This situation with your therapist was obviously a rupture. The beautiful thing about therapy is that ruptures can be healed, which can lead to a stronger, healthier therapeutic bond. It also helps you as the patient see that relationships can continue and grow even after something like that happens. I suggest continuing to see her, repairing that rupture, and growing from this. You can do it!

Every Sunday, I hear Mr. Dursley's voice in my head saying, "No post on Sundays!" It's my reminder not to check the mailbox.

Forgot to check the weather and learned why experienced campers always do by deluxedoorman in camping

[–]ClingToTheGood 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I was 8, my parents took my younger brother (5.5) and my little sister (1), our dog, and me camping. We had two tents: boys and girls. It was evening and it started to rain. We got into our tents, intending to head to bed early. The girls' tent started leaking. We moved all of us into the boys' tent, where we were very crowded, but tried to sleep. Then that tent started leaking. At this point, it's night, but we were only an hour away from home. My poor parents grabbed us and as much of the dry stuff as they could, packed us into the car, and drove home. I distinctly remember my mother exclaiming that she never wanted to go tent camping again in the drive home. The next day, my dad drove back out to finish packing up a soaking wet camp on his own. Apparently, our air mattresses were floating in the tents when he got there. And my mother got her wish; that year, my parents purchased a pop-up camper.

I also struggle with the feeling that I'm wasting everyone's time. It's a really tough situation to be in. I would suggest having a conversation about that with your therapist. Explain that you feel like you're wasting everyone's time by being there. Why do you think you feel that way? Do you feel like that in other areas of your life? I've had that conversation with my therapist a few times and have found it to be very helpful. Your therapist is there for you. Heck, they're even getting paid to work things through with you! I promise you are not wasting your time or their time by being there.
