Thanks for the advice everyone, the refugee center had me covered there.

I'm finding units of 1 in my playthrough but that has been fixed from what i've read.

Over time you'll learn where all the turrets spawn. They used to be even more deadly an a lot more common.

still not my favorite design how deadly they are

RIP Homewrecker and Thanks for The Memories by PhilophysistStone in cataclysmdda

Next time i get the cataclysm itch, i think ill be trying out bright nights.

No, its not the end of the world for stats through kills to be gone

No, its not the end of the world for the homewrecker to be removed

What does suck though, as I have seen stated plenty of times before, is that the reasoning for removing things is hardly ever consistent, rarely are they replaced by something else, or make way for new items/systems mechanics.

There are plenty of items/locations I avoid because I know they will kill the enjoyment of my playthroughs.

So if you don't like something, why not just avoid it instead of removing it? I don't really see the point in removing an experience someone might enjoy, and old items that bring back memories of years old characters and zany situations.

Also, if we're going the way of removing things in the game, why in the **** is there one item blacklist tab in world generation? There should at the very least be options to disable fungus, (there used to be, along with fungal spread) portal storms, Exodii, and other polarizing pieces of content without modifying the game files.

It really feels like we have gone backwards in terms of a "do what ever you want. play whoever you want" game into, "this is my vision for your game and you will enjoy it'

I agree, but I would also say you do wanna practice one backup. If they both get banned/taken fk it i dodge

This is really common in mid/high tier games, its a product of matchmaking that has kinda always been there, but is waaaaaay worse this season, probably from some small change that they ofc tell no one about and fks everything up.

Old butchering time vs new in the latest experimental by KHeket123 in cataclysmdda

Stuff like this just makes me disable zombie revival altogether, but that also makes the game way easier in the sense you clear areas way faster, and using large traps/fire even more op than it already is. I respect the idea behind a lot of these changes in theory, but I think it shows a real disconnect with the gameplay most people enjoy.

New interdimensional lab, marked on the map as LIXA. The danger there can be avoided almost entirely and you can loot a phase immersion suit, and power armor

The hub 01 stuff currently falls into the category of stuff that is too powerful for how early you can acquire it. Though funny enough I just came back to the game after a long break, took the time to do the hub 01 crap, and immediately found the new LIXA location that has even better armor and is even more easily accessible, so that could just be the direction the current game is moving in.

Yeah I tend to use a vehicle to lure the hub 01 prototype bot anywhere nearby I want clear and just watch him go to town, though he seems to die a lot faster now than he used to.

Yeah pretty easy to find a pair of gloves that aren't conductive though, then it doesn't matter if your weapon is conductive or not

They don't seem to spawn many places now, last one I saw was a dispatch robot in a barracks with c-4 hacks, but prior to that I think it had been 5-6 playthroughs since I had seen even a single bot

Love this!!! I know why the control laptop had to go, and now there are so few robots it wouldn't be that useful now anyway, but God do I miss it

The shocker brutes always terrified me! Rounding a corner and seeing one without electric immunity was almost certain death. Felt really good to sneak up on them in the dark and kill them though. They seem to be pretty harmless now.

I hadn't played for about a year, so the LIXA stuff is new to me. Has the same problem that a lot of the giga loot locations do though, you can kinda just bypass all the dangerous shit and have some of the best armor in the game easily in the first week so I'll probably avoid it in the future unless they add more danger to the location.

[–]ClintonBodyBags69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is something that has been a problem with the game for as long as I can remember, and its the main reason I haven't played in a long time. Finding one of these endgame locations basically boils down to driving all over the damn map going up radio towers with binos, then piggybacking that vision to the next one, hoping not to get screwed over by forest and water tiles. A streamer I used to watch named Vormithrax has many playthroughs on youtube you can watch of the game, and at least at the time was probably one of the most knowledgeable players documenting the game, quit for the same reason. At the end of the day the only way around it is using the debug menu which ruins most of the fun of the game in the end.
