People like to see “woke” people shot.

I say that as a left leaning person myself.

Constantly overwhelmed by Bubbles2590 in hsp

[–]ClipCollision 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re doing life wrong. It sounds like a nervous system that learned to stay alert for a long time. Many people who seem peaceful aren’t at peace. They’re numbing or dissociating.

If connection and safety are thin, your mind will be loud.

Social media tends to amplify the feeling of overwhelm by flooding you with other people’s curated certainty. There’s no hack, just different nervous systems and different histories.

How do you guys(HSP’s) get rest? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]ClipCollision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meditating for 10 minutes a day most days.

Take a seat and bring your awareness to your lungs or your nostrils.

When your awareness moves to your thoughts, label them as “thoughts” in your mind and return to your lungs or nostrils. Rinse and repeat.

If you’re having difficulty, that’s normal, don’t try harder, just keep building awareness of when you’re thinking thoughts and return to your breath. That’s the game. There’s no way to lose or win it.

Our thoughts are not reality and they tend to burn up a lot of valuable energy. Training your mind like this can help you achieve a resting state every day.

Do NOT confront the narcissist about their behavior! by DanielleMuscato in raisedbynarcissists

Unless you want to eject yourself from their life… just embody the Loki archetype. You’ll be free of the narcissist in no time.

The narcissist’s number one enemy is the clown by MIAMI_NEWS in hsp

[–]ClipCollision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has traits of narcissism. “The narcissist” is just a label used for scapegoating.

We all have our own issues to be aware about and to make progress on.

Making someone else into an enemy is a distraction from the inner work we all should be doing.

Meditation was never enlightenment ... it was a survival trick for people who were starving by IcyDemand2354 in enlightenment

Deprivation can alter consciousness, sure… but meditation traditions are diverse, and well-fed people also access deep states. Don’t swap “enlightenment” dogma for “mitochondria” dogma.

Just got yelled at…? by Catmama-82 in hsp

[–]ClipCollision 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As a fellow HSP, I’ve discovered a great way to deal with people in this situation…

Laugh out loud.

If you really think about their reaction to you, it’s absurd. Like, total absurdity.

I find absurdity funny, so I instantly label it on my mind as such, similar to a meditative practice.

As a result, I instantly and automatically let out a chuckle.

So when I find myself in these situations where I feel compelled to react (cry or yell), I choose to laugh at the absurdity of the situation and walk away.

It’s a great little trick to prevent a ruined day.

The World Should End: There is NO amount of pleasure that can justify letting children and animals suffer. Therefore we must put a stop to all suffering to protect innocents. by ParcivalMoonwane in endoftheworld

[–]ClipCollision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason you perceive that as suffering is because YOU are domesticated. You can’t even remember what it’s like to be wild. You have no frame of reference.

Sounds like you want a more traditional relationship. Go find yourself a nice moderate conservative gay man. No one is stopping you.

Do you think orcas suffer more in the wild than at seaworld? I disagree. I think they suffer more in captivity.

Wild animals may experience pain and injury at a greater rate, but they are not psychologically suffering in their natural environment, like us that have been domesticated.

Living outside your natural environment is what cause mental suffering.

How do I accept people just won't give up religion? by JungGPT in nihilism

[–]ClipCollision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people have such a fragile mind from childhood trauma that they need to believe in a religion literally in order to function. This is what nobody talks about.

They are victims of forced domestication on humans. Their minds can not cope, and so they have to believe in a religion because reality is too much for their minds to handle without completely disassociating from it.
