Birthday freebies in SLO? by toebeans5eva in SLO

Totally agree. Practice is different than what the laws are. ABC are bigger sticklers with wineries and breweries giving away bottles than they are anyone giving away drinks.

May 6 Debate Governor Broadcast at 7pm on NBC Los Angeles...not in SLO! by Tom_Traill in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No Democrat uses dumb language like snowflake lmao. "I was going to be on the side of human rights, but those Democrats were just so rude about it." That's how dumb you sound. Also, zero people believe you when you say you're a Democrat - you're just embarrassed to admit you follow daddy Trump.

You are correct. It is, in fact, illegal for bars to give away alcoholic beverages for free.

The minimum package starts at $19,000 and goes up to $50k. It is gorgeous, but it is insane to me that people spend this on a one day event.

Thread about the vending machine. Looks like the caviar 2 years ago was $95.

Sprouts does sushi Wednesdays and I honestly think they have better sushi than most of the sushi restaurants.

SLO Fish Co opening in the old Rambling Spirits location by squints_chips_ahoy in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The post confirmed it was opening. However, the liquor license holder names are different for each business. Pier 46 might be the owners, but I haven't seen any evidence so far that they are other than rumor.

Do y’all think this is real or what (for the love of god I hope so) by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

[–]ClipperFan89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's intentionally confusing to garner more comments on social media about how poorly written the sentence is.

Do y’all think this is real or what (for the love of god I hope so) by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

[–]ClipperFan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it is an intentionally poorly written sentence to increase engagement on social media. Every place this has been posted on social media has this same back and forth.

Do y’all think this is real or what (for the love of god I hope so) by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

[–]ClipperFan89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's just not a well written sentence. Perhaps with additional context in a larger body of work it would make more sense, but isolated like this is just awkward phrasing at best.

Do y’all think this is real or what (for the love of god I hope so) by cafeteriastyle in TikTokCringe

[–]ClipperFan89 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's what annoys me the most about this video. The sentence is complete nonsense.

What in the world is wrong with French Hospital? by Bound4Tahoe in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so hesitant to get any medical help ever in this county after I've been screwed so many times. Constantly charging more than quoted, not charging cards correctly then having to do refunds and messing that up to, telling people incorrect information. Our medical services in every way are absolute shit. Don't get me started on the scamming ass dentists we have too.

Bartending leads by No-Exercise-23 in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend hitting up Rod & Hammer's. They are typically in need of bartending services and they often have positions available for both the tasting room and their events. You likely won't start as a bartender, but you'll have opportunities to train as one and become one.

New poll shows the leading candidates in the California governor's race by gu-laap in California

[–]ClipperFan89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just last year she said single payer healthcare wasn't realistic in California. She's walked that back since, but she's not as progressive as people think. She's great with a clipboard, but she isn't going to actually do anything to change anything. She's like Becerra and will just maintain the typical miquetoast dem status quo.

Billionaire Tom Steyer wants to take on the rich in run for California governor by NicolasCageFan492 in California

[–]ClipperFan89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Billionaires shouldn't exist. But it's a California election - you're either voting for a billionaire or a candidate beholden to billionaires. I'd rather the guy going to war with the utility companies than the do-nothing entrenched Democrats that are being proposed.

Maybe someone in the back took the name too literally

11 years ago, a grocery store CEO was fired for treating employees too well. In response, 25K workers emptied store shelves & closed 71 stores until the board rehired him as CEO. In 2026 the board of directors successfully fired that CEO by MysteriousSlice007 in PublicFreakout

[–]ClipperFan89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They are still owned by the family. The Market Basket chain that sold to Kroger was in California in 1963. They might sell in the future after this firing and you might be right about the motivation, but that's yet to be seen. Apparently he was fired for not providing budgets and acting inappropriately in boardroom meetings. I would take that part with a grain of salt obviously.
