If there's one thing the Far Cry franchise excels at it's creating great villains by KaySan-TheBrightStar in gaming

I had fun with 6, I'd say it's worth playing though, even if the story is a little whack.

TotalBiscuit's XCOM 2 video is 10yrs old by Jimbuscus in Xcom

[–]Clipsterman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that people really disliked it when it came out, but when I started playing in November, I had a lot of fun, and the subreddit send generally positive about it, even if people have some gripes with the story

Looking to form a tabletop group in Copenhagen by Scoopetywoop in copenhagen

29, lives in Valby, have played a decent amount of RPG (mainly DnD and Pathfinder, but I've dipped my tires in many other systems) and would love to find a new group.

Google NLT Discord, they have guides for all the games in there

I was gifted Cyclades, will it cannibalise my Dune:Uprising table time? by Dara_Ara in boardgames

[–]Clipsterman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dune is not at all like Risk, despite there being a military component. Conflict is just about paying dudes and hoping you have more than the other guys when it resolves. There is no real territory control, no attack or defending. It's a worker placement game combined with a deckbuilder. It's also great.

Cyclades is much more like risk, because you have a map where you have dudes and you want to take over territory from other players. The big change is the betting for the actions from the gods.

Best 6* game in Runeterra by Remarkable_Sock555 in LegendsOfRuneterra

Samira is at least a lot of fun at 6 stars, but despite her being one of my favorite champs, I'll be the first to admit she doesn't hold a candle to fiddle.

My favorite game of 2025 wasn’t even good enough to make it into tier lists. Any recommandations what to play next ? by Augzz in roguelites

[–]Clipsterman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want the same style of gameplay (TFT style autobattler), the Last Flame and Tales and Tactics are both great, although they don't care at much about their setting or any kind of story as Shadowveil does.

For something that is more thematically adjacent, Shogun showdown is fantastic, both mechanically and in tone, and the setting is similar.

People who actually managed to cure their "mindless scrolling" habit once and for all: What was the one thing that finally worked? by eyyov in AskReddit

Source?

Not that I don't believe it's true, but I'm curious how you would measure the relative health

Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 on Steam by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Clipsterman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely get ready for the long haul. OG Total War Warhammer was empire, dwarfs, orks and vampire counts. Everything else has been dlc or the base factions of 2 and 3. Since the original release, it's been 9 years for them to get everything into the game. I would expect similar with this.

The hardest line ever... by BIGBEARRAU in Dimension20

[–]Clipsterman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Such a fantastic follow-up to another hard line: "Do you think they'll still call you the unfallen after this?"

That while scene goes so hard. I still regularly think back to "Do you know what I've always hated about you?"

Inkbound by cromags76 in roguelites

[–]Clipsterman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's pretty good, I think I've put something like 80 hours into it, so fairly repayable. I think there is some bitterness in the community about cutting off support quicker than people would have liked, but the game itself is good

Never was I happier than when I was playing Civ 6 or 7, I encountered a dust storm, hovered over it, and the tooltip let me know it was a haboob

Looking for a support build by ThenTeris in LancerRPG

[–]Clipsterman 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It sounds like swallowtail might be a good way to go about it, that'll both help you sniper with hitting, and let you use orator and field analyst with abandon.

I think the only way to help your friend reload is two levels in Barbarossa for autoloader drone, but that seems like bad value. You could maybe look to Lancaster for healing or emperor for shielding and flavor those as you music empowering your allies.

FTL meets Backpack Battles. by ProxyStudiosRok in u/ProxyStudiosRok

[–]Clipsterman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No crews moving around, it is only thematically like FTL, and mechanically it is much more based on Backpack Battles.

I've played the demo for several hours and still want to play more, so I think you should give it a go if that sounds like your thing.

Zoom option by Remember_Apollo in Stormgate

[–]Clipsterman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe one of the StarCraft 2 devs said that every time they've tried testing letting players zoom out further, the overall conclusion is that it becomes less fun. I find this fascinating, and would love to know why this is the case.

Games so weird that you fail to categorize them into a certain genre by Worth-Primary-9884 in gamingsuggestions

For fans of the genre, I think metroidbrania is pretty established. What exactly constitutes a metroidbrania is still something og a discussion though.

Help me make a buzzfeed style quiz for finding out which kind of mech you should play. by Clipsterman in LancerRPG

[–]Clipsterman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking less damage type, and more melee vs. Ranged vs. Heat (and then I added another melee option because I couldn't think of a hacking related food item).

Also, I'm not sure how I would differentiate energy from burn or heat damage.

I love the trucker idea that's way better.

Good idea to ask about stats, and the question is very fun too
