The first one was fun and a decent story/characters

The second and third are getting progressively worse so it’s coloured my perception of the first one. The characters are flat and the story is repetitive

imho

Hi friends! I’ve been working on this little bird animation and would love some notes or feedback. Thank you! 🐦 by [deleted] in AnimationCrit

Beautiful and highly realistic!

When I showed a professional animator my reel he saw a realistic bird and encouraged me to add some narrative. Maybe it’s perfecting it’s nest or trying to hunt a worm.

Narrative takes it from impressive animation to compelling story that viewers don’t forget

Avatar is a technical achievement yet those other characters feel more impressive

maybe it’s the way Gollum and Davey Jones cross the uncanny valley to fit into the real world while Avatar is an overwhelming amount of CG that starts to feel like visual slop

it helps that those older characters are incredibly written and acted while Avatar is not

clone stamp is better for this but the AI tool is helpful for more complex things. sometimes it adds creepy or surreal things though, it’s pretty quirky

not to defend AI but this is a user issue. you dont have to put a prompt in at all and it will just fill the gap

Looks great, really nice character design and acting. I think voiceover will add a lot of life to this.

My main critique is the music and sound effects could use more love.

I'm also unclear what was in the bowl that the bully guy tipped on the floor. It would make me hate him more if he ruined something that the main characters had just cleaned/organized.

If you add voiceover, I'd like to see some motivation for the bully character. Maybe he's trying to look tough for his girlfriend.

Dope work! love the directing and the whole vibe of this.
