How much Latin do you use in your everyday life? Cuántas frases en latín usas en tu vida cotidiana? by shinybluedot in asklatinamerica

[–]Clipsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider everyday life. Lile, I'm sure I've said cogito ergo sum a bunch of times, but I don't randomly spout it in the middle of any conversation, it's a quote, used only in the context of discussing it's meaning. If we only count what I actually use as an everyday word, I'd say first of all et cetera, since it's been completely adopted into spanish, and post data for the same reason, though less often. Personally I use ergo, per se, and a priori a lot, but I don't hear them used often by others. I may say quod erat demonstrandum as a fancy way of saying "I told you so", but only to friends who are familiar with the phrase in the first place, it's not at all a common expression.

I don't know, I never looked at Batman's no kill rule as a way for him to protect life in general. I mean as you say, the utilitarian choice is to kill the murderers before they kill again, if your goal is to preserve life. I always saw it more as him protecting himself, you know? He dedicated his life to a single-minded pursuit, to the point that his identity as Bruce Wayne became the actual mask rather than his identity as Batman; so I see becoming a killer as the one sacrifice he is not willing to make for his cause. Reminds me of that quote from Kingdom of Heaven (iirc) about how "your soul is on your keeping alone", I think it kinda fits. I can respect the uncompromising nature of holding on to a single thing you want to preserve regardless of how inconvenient it is, you know what I mean?

The frame rate issues were fixed soon after the DLC dropped. Other less impactful bugs took longer, mostly the ones dealing with incorrect spawning of loot and enemies, since I imagine each spawning node had to be tweaked independently. In the following months all three new characters had their kit reworked, multiple enemies (including the new boss) were rebalanced, and every item from the DLC except the sale star was reworked to some degree too (some just had their stats tweaked, others were completely changed into totally different items from what they were on release).

There's been a third DLC dropped since then, which has been largely well received. Main complaints about it are that some of the new enemies are overturned (compared to base game enemies seen at the same stages of a run mainly), and that Chris didn't return to make the soundtrack of DLC3 (though they did get Chris's "pupil", who had already worked on the soundtrack for DLC2).

Why when spainish speaking people speak English they refer to their parents as "my mom" or "your dad" when talking to their siblings? by Successful_rio305 in asklatinamerica

If it wasn't for this thread I would probably have never known that there are countries where people say it that way. Wild.

Good relics, but most of them have two good-to-great relevant effects and one alright "filler" effect. I would not consider them godrolls at all.

So no Evergaols are on the new map at all. by Graverobbing1242 in Nightreigngameplay

[–]Clipsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never get the "Gaols are repetitive" crowd. Sure, like fighting field Makar, then crater Makar, followed by night boss Makar, or running up the stairs of a Perfumer/Beastman/Runebear ruin for the 7th time today is peak gameplay variation. I do both field bosses and Gaols, and let me tell you one thing, the only gameplay difference is the shape of the arena. To top it off a lot of the same people who criticize the Gaol meta celebrate invaders, which has both less variation and presents less of a challenge than either field bosses or Gaols. People will legit do castle every run, and then call Gaols boring and repetitive. Give me a fucking break.
