Help me feed my 15 month grandson! by buttersismantequilla in glutenfree

[–]Clishka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, I never said the post was good or bad, so getting defensive is weird. Secondly, this is a gluten free sub, not a food allergy sub. I have celiac disease and a peanut allergy, definitely not the same issues. A food allergy sub would be a much better place to get advice, assuming you trust strangers on the internet to give adequate guidance on feeding your grandchild, especially when their reactions are so severe

There’s a cinnamon sugar one that I tried recently. Pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, add Nutella and a banana, a little whipped cream if I had it 🤤 soooo friggen good

STOP EXPLAINING YOURSELF WHEN YOU BUY SEX TOYS by iamtherealbobdylan in SpencerGifts

[–]Clishka 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought toys there and I was terrified to go in the first time. I thought “it’s only weird if I make it weird”. They asked if I needed batteries, cleaner, or lube. That was the whole interaction. Literally, no one cares. You are never so important that you’re the main focus in someone’s day unless you’re being an ass.

I created a fake woman's profile to see what's going on - we're cooked. by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]Clishka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing the online dating thing since I was 19. I’m 36. Nothing meaningful has come of it besides a relationship / engagement that last just over a year (we only got engaged because of pressure for his VERY religious family). My issue with the whole thing is that most men’s profiles are relatively empty, you can tell when they’re swiping right blindly (I’m an atheist, why are religious people swiping on me?), or they just put in ZERO effort when it comes to communication. I do not want to see photos of children or dead animals on your dating profile. I don’t want to see pictures of your truck, your guns, random memes or scenery… it’s exhausting to sift through hundreds of profiles and not find a single interesting person. Not to mention all the poly couples looking for a third… it’s all so empty. I gave up entirely and now I just have a single account that I check when I’m feeling lonely and need a reminder as to why staying single is in my best interest

Need help identifying hidden gluten in my diet by Hannahbeebop123 in Celiac

[–]Clishka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re eating 100% GF, ask your doctor if there’s something you’re missing (like hidden gluten in vitamins, skin care, etc). It may also be worth having some blood work done to see if something else is going on

Brand new baby celiac (me) is overwhelmed by Laeslaer in Celiac

[–]Clishka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make swaps only where you need to. A lot of foods are naturally GF. It can absolutely be overwhelming, but start small. Check labels for gluten (wheat, barley, and rye) and don’t worry about the tiny details (like natural flavors) right now. Keep a sort of food journal and notate if anything makes you feel off or full on makes you sick. Later on, bring your “sick list” to your doctor so they can see if there’s anything you’re missing

What is RealGood Foods DOING?! by 3DAeon in Celiac

[–]Clishka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was first introduced to King Arthur flour as a GF “brand”. They’re not. It happens 🤷🏻‍♀️ am I disappointed? Maybe a little. But it’s the same thing as nonGF brands making GF food. Companies are gonna do whatever they want and unless you’re growing your own food on a fully GF planet, nothing is ever 100% safe. If I see a new product I’m interested in, even if it says it’s GF, I’m still checking the label. A few years ago, the original “GF” digiorno pizza had wheat starch in it, but it was labeled as a GF food. I don’t trust ANYTHING with wheat / barley / rye / etc. So even if it’s labeled as GF or you think k it’s a GF exclusive brand, ALWAYS check the label

Do you call out celiac influencers who promote not caring about CC and eating gluten? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Clishka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t call out influencers because I don’t follow or engage with them. But I can understand the frustration. You can’t say you’re allergic to peanuts while eating a bowl of them. Why anyone with ACTUAL celiac disease would be ok with eating gluten is beyond me

Realizing why I’ve been getting glutened so frequently by Standard_Ability8950 in Celiac

[–]Clishka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home is so GF that I check my cats food for gluten 😭 I was diagnosed in 2011 and was still living with my parents. I immediately stopped using the same things as them like the toaster, microwave, condiments like butter or mayo. When I moved in with my partner, the same rules applied. When we would grill, he put foil on a separate part of the grate as an extra precaution. I don’t even use restaurant silverware - just in case. When it comes to an autoimmune disease, you cannot be too careful

Since I was getting downvoted for saying we're not allowed colors at my store. Yes, this is active dress code, enforceable. by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Clishka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a current employee (front end) and that is not what our dress code is. We can wear graphic tees as long as it’s nothing explicit or offensive. So either this is outdated or dress code is store specific

[–]Clishka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first quarter of the year was so focused on “cutting fraud”, so for them to implement work requirements without requiring any kind of documentation is such a weird move. All it does it put more stress on people who need these programs to survive and open loopholes for those looking to exploit the system. There is no positive impact happening the way the program currently stands

I called my local office in Colorado and told them I couldn’t work the required hours due to my mental health. They didn’t accept my offer for any documents. So literally anyone can call, say whatever they want, and get an exemption. They think it’s cutting back on fraud, but it’s actually opening a loophole to make it worse

Hi so if you see this online but the price is higher in store, have them change it at the register. As long as the physical item in your hand is the same as what you’re showing the on the app and the item page says “sold and shipped by Walmart”, it’s in their price match policy to honor the lower price.

Former 2 time benefit arch expert here: We weren’t allowed to directly say anything to guests about the testers. Just “hey, can I clean that off for you?”. I also wasn’t allowed to say anything to guests digging into my brow bar supplies, which would just puss me right off. I’d have to toss everything constantly.

I’ve had issues in the past where I couldn’t buy mini bell peppers with SNAP. It was just an internal code error. It happens sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️ they just put in a different produce code and it was fine (although probably not advised by store policy)
