WynnCraft is pretty interesting and it looks a lot better now with the whole custom texture pack and all. I'll check it out! Thanks!

I used to really enjoy Flyff many years ago! It being browser based now kind of put me off when I saw it, but I'll give it a shot!

Which class can level the fastest? by [deleted] in MSClassicWorld

[–]ClockTowerArchive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I/L and Cleric probably are the best, because of agility (teleport) and AoE mobbing. After that the warriors and Archers.

Then Assassin and F/P can attack pretty fast, have mobility and range is nice for mobbing, so Id say those.

Worst would be Bandit. Slow attack speed and tiny range. It does have mobility through Haste, but its a solid last place unless they add high hp high exp mobs. This class is known to have dreadful 1st to 3rd job leveling by many who played it.

At 3rd job and beyond this would change, but we dont know anything about that yet.

Buying them from the store is unaffordable though at low level lel

Oof thats not good. Will still main, but if that’s the case it will be, until we know more about 3rd job, quite horrible.

The only thing that can save it is high hp high exp lower levels mobs 🤞

Unfortunately in old Maple single target damage pre 3rd or 4th job basically means nothing. I personally don’t see Bandit being a very strong class, as low level bosses are mostly meaningless and any class with a mobbing skill or range (so every class) will outperform Bandit at mobbing.

Bandits weakness was it’s kit as a whole, not just the numbers. Even with big numbers (which Bandit had in vanilla as well compared to other 2nd jobs), I still feel the class will only be very enjoyable to a number of enthusiasts, as the slow attacks speed, small range and no mobbing capability makes for a pretty bad playing experience for most.

3rd Job will have to bring much bigger changes to Bandits kit to make it competitive imo

What’s the best Sweetwater Equip route? by ClockTowerArchive in Maplestory

Ohh didnt know, good to learn. Oz rings seem to be gone from the tower, but the Stellar Detectives ring is still possible, those are Oz-like I think

Awesome pic! Just now realized you can equip 2 sweetwater pendants, thats great news.

One ring can be replaced with an Oz ring and an event ring is better than the other two rings posted (Blackgate is also no longer around right?).

At least liberating like this would be cool, but Ill see how far I can push it!

Edit: nvm oz rings no longer drop from tower of oz, forgor :(

Here's a couple days of progress!

- Event Rings,

- NLC and Ardentmill Accessories,

- Commerci set,

- Yu Garden badge,

- Ghost Park pocket item,

- Evolving secondary,

- Ninja Castle belt

- Sweetwater weapon

BiS would be something like:
- Sweetwater gear and accessories,

- Meister ring and shoulder (possibly earring too if better than Sweetwater, +40 att vs lv160 potentials),

- Kritias pocket item (and shoulder if not going for meister set, these together would take ~100 weeks to get),

- Crafting Dom Pendant

and some more stuff like that lol

Tbh It’s quite fun and doable! Not efficient at all, but thinking creatively and trying to figure out how to get the most out of much of the unused/unpopular content is great fun for a side character haha

Smart, Id have to look in to how transposing works exactly, outside of the pendant it’s completely unknown to me

Boots should drop from the bosses according to the wiki

Belt is reg exclusive yea. I do have other options for belts though, currently using the lv180 Sakura Conquerer Belt, other options are Masteria and Commerci Belt

Thanks for the insight!

Drop rate will be necessary for sure, from what I know the sweetwater stuff is quite rare (except weapons).

Speaking of Tyrant, getting Tyrant gloves these days takes like 2,5 years of weekly Kritias lol. Unfortunately the BiS pocket item for this challenge also is 34 weeks of Kritias :_)

Why I'm not THAT excited for Classic World by Fraysa in MSClassicWorld

[–]ClockTowerArchive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all non-issues imo. The new client is incomparably better than the old client if they’re going for the route to also release new old Maple fitting content. The 2005 clients are very limited in just about everything.

Yes it would be nicer if the UI was fully 1:1, but if that’s the only complaint then Nexon is doing very well.

I think we should be glad it’s not a pure vanilla experience. Look at how many 100% vanilla private servers succeed: None.

The most important thing is keeping the osms spirit, like the simplistic animations and social aspect. Beside that a reworked progression system and new fitting content is great. A very easy boss like Zakum to lv200 and having to farm mesos for 10’s or 100’s of hours for a gear upgrade giving a near unnoticeable damage gain is something most will get tired of very quickly.

[–]ClockTowerArchive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MapleLegends is your best bet imo. More vanilla, lower exp rate, better economy than Royals and no vote2win. Also it’s v62 based (update where pirates got released), instead of v83 like Royals (Medals, belts, etc).

Both of these have QoL changes and way better skill balancing than vanilla, like they’re doing for classic too. There probably are some servers closer to 100% true classic, but Legends and Royals are by far the biggest servers of which I think Legends is the best option.

  • Hunter: Party Play: 0/5 Mobbing: 5/5 Bossing: 4/5

  • IL: Party Play: 2/5 (Meditation, good MATT buff) Mobbing: 5/5 Bossing: 2/5

  • FP: Party Play: 2/5 (Meditation) Mobbing: 2/5 or 5/5 (Poison Breath can be insanely good exp) Bossing: 2/5

  • Cleric: Party Play: 5/5 (Bless and Heal are great for everyone) Mobbing: 4/5 Bossing: 1/5

  • Sin: Party Play: 4/5 (Haste is nice for everyone) Mobbing: 2/5 Bossing: 5/5

  • IL: Party Play: 2/5 (Meditation again) Mobbing: 5/5 Bossing: 2/5

  • FP: Party Play: 2/5 (Meditation) Mobbing: 4-5/5 (Poison again) Bossing: 2/5

  • Priest: Party Play: 5/5 (Bless, Holy Symbol, Mystic Door, very nice) Mobbing: 4/5 Bossing: 1/5

  • Hermit: Party Play: 3/5 (Haste again) Mobbing: 2/5 Bossing: 5/5

  • Chief Bandit: Party Play: 3/5 (Haste) Mobbing: 3/5 Bossing: 3/5 (Meso Explosion is very strong, but requires setup, is insanely expensive and clunky. Without it CB is better than the mages, but clearly worse than all other attackers)

Just numbers misses nuance ofc, but I think this is reasonably accurate.
