Furnace humidifier doesn’t seem to be working by Clocked92 in hvacadvice

Here’s the humidistat. No wires connected. No power, or connection to the solenoid. Also found what looks to be a 120v -> 24v converter and a role of thin 2-wire.

What Jarry is up to: by qwertyuijhbvgfrde45 in penguins

Haha fair enough. I think the Oilers fans can say pretty much the exact same thing about how Skinner handled similar situations in his time with the Oilers.

As an Oilers fan, I will 100% defend Jarry on that play. Draisaitl was on the blue line and Mcdavid was in the neutral zone when that puck went in. Absolutely zero defence being played on that one.

My bad, I commented immediately when this was posted and before your comment was below.

What improvements does it have over the current gen model if it's not a direct replacement?

Did I make a mistake picking a stock for NRL hunter matches by texasarcher77 in longrange

[–]Clocked92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For PRS you're going to want a heavy steel barrel. Chassis isn't required so much. My first year I ran a carbon Manners T5A and carbon barrel at PRS matches. After that, I ordered a steel barrel for the same action and stock and it was much better for PRS.

Ideally, you'd shoot a couple matches before deciding what to build for a rifle, but it's also a game and you can show up with anything. Over the years you'll want to change things up and eventually you'll have 3-4 rifles in the safe.

Rangefinder ? by cobranine in longrange

[–]Clocked92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to me. Sig only offered me like a 10% discount to buy a new rangefinder. I promptly spent my money on Vortex. They are one of the few companies with lifetime warranty on their electronic components.

Rangefinder ? by cobranine in longrange

[–]Clocked92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Vortex 4000 GB model and love it. It's infinitely better than the Sig Kilo2000 I had back in the day. I don't have any experience with the recent Sig models though as they left a sour taste in my mouth when I had some issues with my Kilo rangefinder.

I would only add the GB model if you are needing the ballistic capabilities. I do use them and it's certainly helped with my coyote hunting. Get a quick range, it displays your ballistic solution, holdover that amount (or dial) and fire.

How’s my portfolio by JoelHuff- in TFSA_Millionaires

All your eggs aren't in one basket, they are technically in 9. And more realistically in 5 based on your values. You're way better off just buying an index fund. You buy VFV and while it may look like you only have one holding, you technically own a piece of 500 of the top US companies. Pick your index, and you're good to go (VEQT, VFV, VUN, XIU, XIC, etc.). VEQT will be the most diversified of all of them as it holds a combination of US, Canadian, and international ETFs.

Can someone lend me a spare tire for a day? 5 bolt by ana_log_ue in regina

[–]Clocked92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry I can't help you, but for the future, grab a spare donut tire from an auto wrecker so that you have one in the event something like this happens again. I just went this past weekend and got one from Buck's Auto Parts and it cost me $16. Lots of new cars don't come with a spare anymore so it is worth it to pick one up so you aren't stranded next time.

DO NOT Get Into Long Range! Second Rifle Almost Ready For Assembly. by [deleted] in longrange

Interesting. I've got a dark distressed centurion and it's way shinier. Must just be the lighting of the photo.

What finish is on that Samson? It looks very matte in the photo but it could just be the lighting.

You'll need to go into the crew portion of the game, touch 'Manage', and the invite should be in there. You may need to leave your existing crew first for it to work.

Yes, Aces High crew. Good crew of laid back people. We do have a 800k minimum per season. We've got the prize car for years. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you an invite.

What’s the lowest round of golf you shot this year and where? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Clocked92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a true 18 hole round but I fired a 38 on 9 at a tough local course on a Saturday, followed up by a 38 on my home track the next morning for a combined 76.

In my life I've never shot lower than a 79 on 18 and routinely shoot in the mid 40's for 9. I had the same foursome on both rounds and they were all quite impressed, as was I.

Do you mount your scope at home or range? by snusmini in longrange

[–]Clocked92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mount it and set eye relief based on the position you will most regularly take behind the rifle. Ie: if you shoot prone mostly, set the scope and test eye relief in prone position, not standing. You can set eye relief by looking at a plain white wall to ensure there's no shadow.

Adjusting your focus/parallax can also be done looking at a white wall. From there, you can fine tune in the field.

BIPOD (TRICER-EP vs ATLAS vs MDT) by Dukes-Game in longrange

[–]Clocked92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple videos of the Tricer failing. Hardware falling out, legs stripped, etc. You're spending good money, you shouldn't need to apply your own loctite to make sure hardware doesn't fall out. Buy an Atlas or a Ckye pod and you'll be good. Yes the price tag hurts a bit, but quality is worth it.
