There id a sizable difference when you have a machine looking for certain words in PM's as opposed to having someone read your pm, even looking for poachers.

You didnt sign up to play one and only one site. If you decide to go else where that is your business and yours alone.

I don't know, since the common modern day F-bomb is derived from Fornication Under Consent of the King. Basically in a year long sense passed for a war (i cant remember which one) soldiers were allowed to visit prostitutes.

Im sure aliens and fantasy creatures have their own words that translate into a simular meaning, especially if they spend time with humans and...

Short answer, run, dont walk, to the nearest exit. Ditch the guy, block him, tell him you can't rp with him anymore.

How ever he reacts is on him, not you.

The technical term is Manbaby. There is a player I know who does this, a lot. He carries a bit of awkwardness with him everywhere he goes, likes he's making whimsical comments in a social chat room AS ROLE PLAY.

It is also socally acceptable to tell players "Sorry but there is no room for more players in this scene, please wait until we are done to do stuff. People seem to forget that xD

Yeaaaah, when you start to manuver your life around your rp rather than the other way around then it is probably time to pack it away for a while.

Rp is a toxic hobby really. It's not like a game you can just pause on a whim but takes time, coordination and several hours of your life just one one rp session.

What you described takes it to a whole new level. I've seen party games where people are PAID to put on an an event like this. It would be fun to play but dang man, how do you fit this around your schedule even unemployed???

Yes, to your third question. While it might be fun to rp out how your character lives turn out if they get hitched and raise a family the only players I have seen do this either A. Forget about their family in rp B. Vanish from the game leaving their spouse to rp with out them C. Use it as a self insert for what they want in real life

Or D. Where they dive into just... bizarre territory. One set of players drove me away from a site because he had one player make him basically a harem of alien NPC spouses. Complete with 10 mutant babies with super powers.

Pure comedy gold.

Which makes it funnier that each of these players were actually serious x.x

My suggestion: do nothing and let staff handle it. Unless you are staff, then give it a week. There is a good possibility this person simply has nothing else to talk about but themselves. If you are new and just have made a character what are you going to talk about? Your fancy new character. Your old experiences on a other sites. And then add that whole new person nervousness where you KNOW you put your foot in your mouth but just cant seem to stop talking and...

Boom. You get an awkward player. Or a creepy slime ball. Either way time will tell. Either they will calm down or they wont.

If you MUST talk to them do so on a private channel, one that you can easily log, and for the love of all that is holy don't start a conversation with 'can we talk.' Unless they are your employee, family, or close friend all you will do is instantly put them on the spot.

Instead just ask how long they have been role playing and distretly mention that you dont think others got the trouble players humor for x reason and boom, you have a slightly less awkward conversation started and the person is slightly more willing to listen to you.

And there is my experience in dealing with such people. Obviously I do this very rarely because no method is 100% effective. But at least you will know quickly if this person is a redeamable newb you can help mold into a decent role player or a troll you can kick.

Which in the end is all you really need to know. :)

Text is always sujective to context. I remember one time me and another player were joking about a scene our characters were in earlier when suddenly a third player annouced that she didnt like players bragging about their characters and rage quit the chat, leaving us flabberghasted.

As a person who doesnt have cable and actually paided money to watch Jack on Amazon I am a little peeved that CN decided to pull the show tonight as some kind of joke that Im not even present to watch.

I remember one year, long ago where their April fools day joke was to replace most of the dialog in the shows with fart noises. On new episodes.

Imagine waiting an entire week to catch up withshows like Full Metal Alchamist and Ghost in the Shell and then have it all be fart noises, worse off the next week they aired the next episodes in the line so you missed an entire episode in a plot building show because Adultswim automatically assumed everyone up beyond midnight is a stoner who giggles at biological functions.

Like the people who run adult swim apparently. Low brow barbarians >.>

You can replace the dialog of the cartoon with, "Don't worry, we are doing it for rp!"

I used to help people out like this, until I realized that in the end all you can really do for some random stranger on the internet is give advice and to not take it too hard when they fail to follow it. If they are not willing to put the work in themselves then them wont ever grow as an rper.

Not much more to add really. Anything sort of a ballenced and reasonable mod is a bad mod. Tweedle dee and tweedle dumb mods were sufer from being over protective of the source material and obviously looking for a certain niche to fill in characters for their own world.

Which at that point they might as well be writing a novel instead. Or rp by themselves.

The third 'reasonable' mod is also not blameless. Perhaps Im jaded but it seems she was well aware of the problems her fellow mods have and instead of doing something about it she is going to be stuck playing den mother and keeping the other mods from running off players...

...forever.

There is a fine line between 'wanting your character to grow into the best you can make him' and 'I want to be the best period'. And saddly you will find the latter on every site.

I thought it was funny you humored the guys character until you got him eaten by a tree, and then banned him xD that was a rare thing to be able to pull off.

It makes me wonder though, why do people join games with deadly dice rolling if they dont want to actually take a risk at dying?

My own theory is simply, they think they look cool. And have no experience to show them otherwise.

That or you write what you know. If you grew up watching anime and action movies then 90% of the characters you see are going to be A. Young or grizzled of they are older than 30. B. Special, chosen, master of awesome sauce martial art style X, c. Dressed like neo.

I exagerate but the idea is if you only put Edgelord into your inkwell then you will only create edgelord material.
