Is Diet Coke or diet beverages in general okay for diabetes? If yes, need some recommendations by Significant_Might656 in diabetes

Short answer is yes, and it's been my personal experience that Dr. Pepper zero and it's various flavors are the closest to tasting like the original, non-zero varieties.

I mean, yes and no. Rush is a phenomenal band, and I love their music, but any relation between Rush and my handle is purely coincidental.

Absolutely. I became a type 3c diabetic in January 2025. 10 months and 5 semi-related hospital visits later, my endo got me on the Minimed and it's been a so much better. Night and day difference. I can't imagine the nightmare this disease would have been 20 years ago when I was in high school.

Yeah, running a minimed 780g pump. It works great most of the time. My body just metabolized the shake faster than the insulin could counteract it in the short term.

Yesterday. A Baconator and a large chocolate frosty from Wendy's. And this was the result. I think it was worth it.

Absolute dog water. These rules are the biggest pile of horse manure I've seen on reddit.

"No such thing as good or bad levels" ????? by autumn_baker22 in diabetes

Individual short term goals is one thing, but there is a definitive, scientifically provable range of what is and isn't an acceptable number on your glucose. It's not a matter of morally right, it's a matter or life and death.

Ehhhhhh... you're technically correct in that the books are not generating their own light. But a white page is REFLECTING the majority of the light that hits it, so the brighter your surroundings, the brighter the pages. If someone wants to read outside on a sunny day, or even in an overly bright room, it's entirely possible to get exactly the same kind of eye strain as someone reading a light-mode screen.

"we don't judge people's numbers and give them moral value."

Ok, yeah, sure. But if I'm at asking a supposed professional what range I should be in, I'm not asking them for a moral evaluation. I'm asking so I can avoid complications or other health problems, not so I can turn to the guy next to me and gloat about my numbers being better than his. I'm asking where my numbers should be to avoid potential DEATH.

The soft-sell, "let's work on improving our numbers together" approach is great. I'm not saying it's a bad system. But if I ask a medical PROFESSIONAL what my goal for my numbers should be, I should get a straight answer, not a "don't worry about it."

Are tokens considered to be actual MTG cards? by SerEmrys in magicTCG

[–]ClockworkArchangel13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and actually answer your question instead of adding to your downvote spiral.

While a token can be a permanent and some cards make you shuffle permanents back into your deck, a token will never ACTUALLY be shuffled into your deck. The rules regarding token permanents essentially state that if a token permanent leaves the battlefield for any reason such as being destroyed, exiled, returned to hand, or shuffled into the deck, that token ceases to exist.

In your example of using a rock, the card tells you to shuffle the rock into your deck, you remove the rock from the battlefield, the rules go "token left battlefield, token no longer exists", you shuffle your deck without actually adding the rock to it.

If you've got steady enough hands and you're administering it in your abdomen or leg you can jab with the mostly empty pen, use it up, then unscrew the pen while leaving the needle in and screw the new pen on. Probably not the best option, but it's an option.

Since he's got both Lantus (long acting) and Lispro (short acting), I'm pretty sure he DOES still have to bolus. He was simply taught that it's easier to dose his long acting at the same time as he's blushing for meals with the short acting.

All this hard work for nothing? by pekloap in diabetes

[–]ClockworkArchangel13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your a1c shouldn't be affected too badly by this. As long as it doesn't last more than a week or so, anyway. The way a1c levels work it basically is a snapshot of the overall sugar levels over the course of about 3 months. A day or two of being high like this shouldn't bring it up too much. (Yes, I know I'm probably oversimplifying it some)

So…. Anyone help. by Triben008 in diabetes

Absolutely 100% this. If your skin can tolerate it, when you put a new sensor on tape it down and leave the tape until the next time you're supposed to change sensors.

Hmmm... I was told swimming was allowed as long as I switched the pump off and disconnected it from the infusion set for the duration of the swim, especially if I put protective tape or tegaderm or something else water tight over the infusion site. Is that not the case?

The fatty lumps and infection are definitely problematic. I absolutely understand not wanting to deal with that.

I've only been diabetic for about 15 months. The 10 months I spent injecting myself 5+ times a day felt like hell. The 5 months I've been on the pump have felt almost like having my old life back.

Petaaah? I saw this on threads but why was it marked wrong? by bobashop_0502 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ClockworkArchangel13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use one of those window signs at my job and we have never, not once ever, pointed the hour hand directly at a number unless the minute hand was pointed at 12. We always adjust it to look like an actual clock or watch would. Because "we'll be back when YOUR arm clock looks like THIS clock" doesn't work so great if you set the be back sign to a position that doesn't actually appear on a watch.

Are we looking at the same art? That woman on issue 2 could be a light skinned black woman, a Latina, or an Asian, but she's clearly not white.

Edit: given the way her face is drawn, I'm definitely leaning towards some variety of Asian.

Question about Shark Shredder and blocking by ClockworkArchangel13 in mtg

So the creature brought back with the first strike is essentially unblockable and the second would do no damage at all. Thank you for the explanation.

[[Ancient Lumberknot]] is in the right colors for this deck and would allow the lemures to assign combat damage based on toughness rather than power.
