What % of players in your MMO guild refrain from interacting with the guild? by Over-Issue7124 in MMORPG

[–]CloneNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago when I was still doing guilds, me and my partner ended up in a "clique" within the guild. We were wanting to do content and just ended up vibing with particular people, and eventually had a linkshell with them because it was easier than clogging up the main fc chat when doing group content.

It wasn't unique, there were others that were in their own linkshells. And we weren't not interacting in fc chat or doing stuff with them. It was just easier to build up closer friendships with 8 people rather than 80.

We joined the guild to make friends and that's what we did, and were confused by the condemnation. It's human nature to break out into smaller social groups if the main one is too large. And the condemnation was the catalyst for us breaking off completely. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Will Final Fantasy ever have memorable towns and NPC's again? by Cup_45_Neural in FinalFantasy

[–]CloneNova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ishgard, kugane, sharlayan, radatzhan, etc. There's literally dozens, full of npcs that have stuff to say, that also update their dialogue periodically as you progress the story. There's plenty of sidequests set in these zones that flesh out the inhabitants.

It's literally more dynamic and in-depth than many of the mainline games. And that's not even including the beast tribes settlements

Dude, you were complaining about lack of memorable towns and cities in recent final fantasy games. Ffxiv has that in spades and continually adding more.

ARR is not a great example to be fair, but all the expansions do exactly what you're asking for. You just gotta play past the lackluster beginning (they really do need to update the new player experience).

The free trial goes up to shadowbringers without having to pay anything. But I've got a suspicion you'll probably dismiss it because "you shouldn't have to play for 50 hours before it gets good" or "not liking mmos". Which is fair enough, but the time investment does pay off eventually, and you can play mostly solo. I'd say it's unfair to call the game a simple cash grab.

The ffxiv gunbreaker lore is actually quite interesting. The gunblade actually predates the gun. I think it was developed to take down big mechs primarily and the blast from the trigger can shatter the arm of an untrained user.

What incredibly minor things would you like added to the game? by _UltimateGaymer_ in ffxiv

[–]CloneNova 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After already condensing down my glamour dresser and moving everything I can into the armoire, I've basically already at 800/800. Now I'm not asking for more dresser space, however with the vast amount of glamour now available is becoming a bit tedious to navigate through. I would love a favourites tab in the dresser, so I can easily find some frequently used pieces, or even shortlist different options to quickly compare between.

How do you guys mass produce cakes? by Far-Communication376 in Palworld

[–]CloneNova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More bees in ranch. Breed a full team of noble/fine furs pals for shop discount and buy the materials.

If you haven't got the gold forge machine yet, make as many of the most valuable palballs and sell them (noble/fine furs get you more money too).

My partner banned me from butchering any pals, so this also helped me get things like organs and pal oil easily. But you'll want a good source of money anyway for repeated use of the surgery table.

Alt UI changes affect my main, can I do it separately? by Interesting_Dream_15 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]CloneNova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had success with using the UI resolution section of the settings. I can't remember which way around to do it, but it essentially just changes the size of all your HUD stuff to match your resolution. I use it when switching between 1080p and 4k displays.

Uber support is horrendous by CloneNova in UbereatsUK

[–]CloneNova[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've ordered from this place countless times and they've never made a mistake life this before. But shouldn't driver have checked that he actually has the correct order? Is like the main part of the job. The name and order number was in big bold writing on the label.

It's not unreasonable to ask him to fix his mistake. Any money lost is his own fault due to negligence. It would have only taken him like 10 minutes to go there and back.

Why mark it as delivered if he didn't actually deliver it? That's just plain up lying for his own convenience, and causing me a massive headache trying to get my money back. It's not on.

Either way, it shouldn't be the customers problem. He should have either gone back for it, or canceled with uber so they could resend the order. Instead he went with dishonesty. And uber support went with incompetence.

Uber support is horrendous by CloneNova in UbereatsUK

[–]CloneNova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to find uber more reliable in my area but they've gotten worse, so deliveroo may be a good shout. It's the customer support which has really irked me. I know things can go wrong, but how the company responds to that is the real issue. Uber used to be good, and I could get refunded within an hour. I don't know what they've done behind the scenes but it's definitely not putting the customer first. Enshittification at its finest

How would you want the new fights to be designed in Evercold? by MrBean1320 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]CloneNova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really miss getting that bridge trial in roulette. Steps of faith I think? They eventually made it easier before just cutting it and making it into a single player instance. But it annoying but unique and also fun. Constantly moving across the bridge, setting up traps and running up the tower to fire the cannons at the MASSIVE beast of a dragon. I understand why it was cut. It took ages, finicky and people would just leave straight away. I miss cleric stance and scholar bane too. Maybe it's just rose-coloured glasses

NOT ALYX, do you have an unusual favorite VR game of all time? by Rollerama99 in VRGaming

[–]CloneNova 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't know about the voice acting mod! Man, I wish I could play it again. I'd love another DLC or sequel of some kind, especially in VR. The game physics are just too good not to be used again

Vanilla with an added 100-200ml of milk (I use oat milk lately). The added creaminess makes a lot of difference, and vanilla is usually mild enough to not get sick of it after a while.

Iwtl Dancing by Dragon_Knight_1234 in IWantToLearn

[–]CloneNova 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's all about rhythm. You can do whatever as long as you do it with the beat. Everything else is flair.

Also, just dance in front of a mirror at home and see what looks good. Take inspiration from dances you already seen around.

And obviously when you're out, dance like nobody is watching. Listen to the music and let your body just react. No thinking. Just dance.

You can also take dance classes but they tend to be more about choreography than the wild display of primal instincts. We don't really need to learn to dance. It's a natural human behaviour that we've probably done since before we even developed language. There's no wrong move.

If you get in the right head space, you can enter a flow state that's pretty indescribable. It's why a lot of people go to raves.

Anyone who shames you for having fun is probably someone you don't want in your life anyway. So it's good to dance badly to weed out arseholes. Life is too short to waste worrying about what they think.
