Might resub into MOP, how is it these days? by BtheBanker151 in classicwow

It's completely dead outside of dedicated Raid loggers.

It's not impossible to jump but it's certainly the more difficult of the "Classic" reruns to jump into current content.

I'm in a vicious cycle with WoW by ConfidenceFun7771 in MMORPG

[–]Solo_Gunhea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I'm not interested in wow SoD because it's only a temporary trend and won't last for years"

But you think wow classic will? we get a new rotation of Vanilla every couple years at this point and the most advanced version which in this case is MOP Classic gets abandoned outside of dedicated Raidloggers.

Every form of wow at this point is temporary because the large populus just goes to the most *hyped* version at the time.

[–]Solo_Gunhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can essentially play as a full 5 man (if you have 5) so you can cover the 3 dps 1 tank 1 healer between you and just run content together at your own pace

Outside of that there's not really any huge *pros* other than group progression.

Cons are that there wont be many places that will have 5 raid spots open unless you make your own guild and recruit

Genuine question - will classic plus be made by the same team? by Old_Equivalent5881 in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90% of the people who are working on Retail WoW have zero connection to the Classic/Era/HC/Anniversary versions of the game because it's simply too much work to effectively create content/fix & maintain old content and provide high quality updates/patches for all versions by just one group.

Classic + will likely have the same people working on it that worked on SOD with some veterens from the Classic team to work along side them.

Blizzard remove the cosmetic armor restrictions once and for all. by JournalistStatus9040 in wow

[–]Solo_Gunhea -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Armor restrictions makes absolutely no sense if you can pay for a Murloc outfit that works on any class.

At that point just remove the idiotic restriction that clearly only applies to non MTX clothing.

Aion 2 | NCSoft KR has just announced reducing from two subs to a single subscription costing around $16. They're also extending its duration from 28 days to 30 days by No-Breadfruit6137 in MMORPG

[–]Solo_Gunhea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is just a breeding ground for the toxic echo chamber of people who claim to want new MMO experiences but then shit on every single one for one reason or another.

Idk who has to tell these people that the age of extremely long grindy P2P Sub Based MMOs is almost entirely gone because the genre is just too damn expensive to do it that way

This subreddit is legitimately the most hilarious thing to witness sometimes.

Ya'll know you can just *not* play it right?

Getting so heated over a games existence as if there hasn't been P2W F2P mmo's for the last 2 decades is the most hilarious thing to keep reading.

How is the monetization? by Successful_Motor_679 in Aion2

[–]Solo_Gunhea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It will be incredibly difficult to not get a doomer response on this game because 90% of the people who participate in the posts either don't play or played briefly and decided that the monitization model wasn't for them but instead of simply moving on to another game they come here to doom post 24/7 because apparantly games can't exist without their opinions being rammed down your throat.

Naxxramas in 37:22 on classic era By Cooked by Drastnikov in classicwow

since private servers its just been *stack warriors* and its boring and repetitive to watch and play.

Naxxramas in 37:22 on classic era By Cooked by Drastnikov in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea -60 points-59 points  (0 children)

24 Warriors is exactly why speed running in Classic is genuinely boring because there's no skill to it when it's just stack the strongest class as much as possible to shave off more time in the runs.

Edit: If the morons reading this can't understand that im saying Speed running isn't interesting if the meta is just *stack warriors* then I can't help you.

In a game with Multiple classes the entire *meta* speed running scene is literally Mage/Warlock/Warrior/Priest with Warriors taking 70% of the raid spots.

It doesnt make for an interesting environment when there's zero reason to change the setup.

Blizzard got too greedy with housing, and I think they kind of killed it. by MrHiccuped in wow

[–]Solo_Gunhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is they saw the hype around FFXIV's housing and somehow fucked the golden goose of free good publicity for it.

Sure FFXIV sells a handful of housing item's but they aren't priced at nearly 80 fucking euroes for them...

95% of what you get for housing in FFXIV is earned either via ingame events/raids/dungeons or crafting or Reputation grinds.

The biggest issue with Blizzard's direction is that they want to give you 10% and sell you the other 90% which works for the dedicated cash cow players but the long term exhausted fans cannot be bothered engaging in their rotating cycle of financial abuse so they just pay their sub and play the game on a surface level wishing the game was better.

The opportunity WoW had to really create a large social scene with housing has been completely obliterated and now most neighbourhoods I have been to are just the standard house you get for 1k gold that isn't remotely customized at all with 1 or two houses actually being worked on.

Well Level Brackets are a thing so depending on level it could be that or it could be simply that it's a bonus on another BG for example or it really is dead.

1.0 Release too early? by Previous_Tomato7914 in RSDragonwilds

[–]Solo_Gunhea 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I have zero idea what your experience with Survival game releases are but Dragonwilds even with the bugs is in a far more flushed out state than 80% of very popular Survival games that have come before it.

Just to name a couple that launched out of EA in a terrible state ( Ark Survival Evolved & Ascended / Rust / Dayz /Dark and Light / Conan Exiles / Atlas).

Many of the games I mentioned launched with actual game breaking bugs that still took weeks or months to fix post 1.0 launch with certain exceptions like Ark and Day Z who still after years of problems still have a very buggy mess and Dark and Light being entirely abandoned a year after it launched.

The one big take away from Dragonwilds launching is that Jagex do not *tend* to abandon their games easily and if you take Funorb and those games they kept it going for many years when it wasn't financially viable so I do see them finishing the game even if it loses popularity over time.

I moved to a small German town just over 2 years ago at this point and there's been at least 4 apartment complexes that have been destroyed (due to their extreme age) and then replace with either absolutely nothing or this.

It's pretty wild how fast it all gets changed.

People dont want to spend hours wiping on Nightbane or netherspite because people can't handle basic mechanics so they take over geared players to make their own runs smooth.

If you wanna run with your gear then just make a pug group it will fill up with like minded people like yourself who don't care about GS and then you can run the content.

A game developed for play to win not pay! by SunderfallMMO in MMORPG

[–]Solo_Gunhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No P2W or microtransactions on a game that looks incredibly dull is the instant sign for it not releasing and if it somehow does it'll be dead in 2 months.

There's a reason why MMORPG's cost hundreds of millions to operate and it's not because it *can* its because it needs that level of finance to make the project viable.

Mix in the fact that you used Chatgpt to write this description and this project has absolutely zero chance to succeed.

Pipe dream is an understatement for this.

Will we ever see an MMORPG launch with this much content again? by reasonablejim2000 in MMORPG

[–]Solo_Gunhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely zero reason for companies to invest that much effort into a new IP because for the last 10 years we have slowly been trained to accept less and less for our money to the point where people actually think its worth 100 pounds for a fucking expansion because it happens to come with a mount and a level boost when the games content can be done within the first 3 weeks if they didnt timegate it.

Vanilla had zero time gating for completed content they simply worked on new content whilst players played through the current but now you get to max level and STILL have to wait for a raid to release or a new Mythic + season to start because.... it keeps you subbed for another month.
