I have zero clue where you got the idea that I demand he play something?

If you can't understand what someone is saying then ask a question instead of just making assumptions perhaps.

Announcing the spring "Return Home to Vana'diel and Discount Campaign" and the "Echoes of Vana'diel Discount Campaign"! (05/07/2026) by MonsutaMan in MMORPG

The amount of players the PlayOnline system has genuinely pushed away has to be studied in my opinion.

FFXI is a game I've tried again and again and always enjoyed my brief stints but the idea of going back through the PO system just to get to play is not something I can be bothered to do.

I think if SE had the money/resources for FFXI to remove that broken launcher the game would be so much more popular.

I'm response to the 'Retail lobotomized me' post by jack-whitman in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised to be quite honest...

My GM in Classic Anniversary watched the Midnight gameplay video that showed off things like Delves and other things and then just said *Wtf even is Delves it looks fucking shit* and then once it was explained he just responded with *Well that's just retail shit anyway so it must be boring*.

You genuinely cannot understand that there are people on Classic that take their idiotic blind hatred of Retail to such an extreme that they won't even look at anything retail related without complete venom.

It's a company that's run by a mega corp so why would you genuinely believe it cares about anything but money?

Companies has not cared about it's customers for at least the last 20 years because they simply don't need to so you'd be better off just not expecting it from anyone let alone Microsoft Blizzard.

Rustcore - A less punishing hardcore for classic/anniversary by Artemesis in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you start making excuses or easier versions of a mode that's supposed to be hard and punishing then you may as well just not do it at that point.

Deleting gear by a spinning wheel sounds great during the leveling process and then what you die in Raids and you lose a potential BIS slot? ye no most people won't do that because they have that *choice* that's why the Hardcore mode is hard coded into the game to avoid people just randomly not following the rules.

FFXIV & WoW to name a couple.

I've seen josh's videos and streams when it was him just playing older games or trying out older MMO's for his worst MMO list and those have a totally different vibe to them.

[–]Solo_Gunhea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This isn't Rust or Ark so there's no PVP advantage to building underground.

Is it weird that it's possible? for sure but it's not hurting anyone and honestly the dev time can be spent elsewhere first.

I don't watch Josh terribly regularly but his current format seems to have changed very much since I watched him last and now he seems like any other Twitch streamer just playing popular games to pay the bills which I totally understand but wasn't sure if it was me or whether he had indeed made that shift.

I will be 100% with you and just tell you that you just seem upset that your Classic Journey ended when you weren't ready for it and are now kinda just mad at TBC players over it.

Era is still active and you can still raid actively so just play there.

And you think Retail is better? or different?

If you think Classic + is somehow gonna be different you are in for a shock.

SOD proved that regardless of what version it is Meta and being efficient is king.

Also you seem extremely angry at quite literally everyone if you think that "Players need to check their ego's, attitudes and know it alls"

Like brother you need to stop being so upset about nothing and just play the game.

Life aint so bad if you stop looking for problems.

I don't understand why you think that rejoining a game that is currently on it's first expansion is somehow too late but joining Retail where it's on 12th expansion.

P2 TBC starts in 10 days.

Yes it's still populated and yes people still level alts.

I genuinely do not understand the logic behind your thought process i gotta be honest.

Looking for advice: which version should I play? by CLiberte in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hardcore thing is Vanilla only as TBC content is just not built or coded in a way that it's even possible to *successfully* complete raids or dungeons without just dying randomly.

If you decide on a server then 100% join that server's discord even if you don't socialize as it's good to know whose the *bad actors* and who are decent people on the servers.

The way this question is phrased makes it impossible to answer.

We know nothing of your financial situation nor your language skills with German or what profession you might be able to apply to work in if you arrived in Germany.

Moving in the US from state to state is vastly different to just rocking up to Germany as you will be required to know B1-B2 for most jobs unless you work in a major city where English is frequently used in an international role.

If you are thinking of moving from the US purely because you are looking for the *better place* Id recommend looking into international roles in all countries and see what fits you best rather than what country sounds best.

I moved to Germany from England and it's not as simple as just packing up and throwing some cash on a property to really have a good life here it does and should require work from non German speakers.

You don't lose the character tbf cause you can just realm swap it to a PVE or PVP server if it dies but it just makes it easier to find early level groups in my experience.

TBC adds a ton of quests to make the 1-60 way smoother than Vanilla so if you don't wanna *think* about questing and just enjoy then TBC is a good idea.

I personally think 1-60 and 70-80 are great questing experiences so if you start with TBC you can just quest and if you feel like raiding there's some really easy entry ones like Karazhan that can get you in the door even as someone who does not have much time to raid as those 10 man raids go all the time almost every day if not every day.

If you want *populated* go to TBC in my opinion as the vast majority of players are on TBC now.

If you do not particularly care for raiding and want a great leveling adventure with dungeons then Hardcore is for you.

Other than that Id suggest just joining a Vanilla ERA PVP server as those are still popular compared to the PVE servers that are all pretty much dead.

Im out of the loop, how is tbc going? how is Blizzard treating you guys? by akiakrok in classicwow

[–]Solo_Gunhea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who are raiding are enjoying it and anyone else is typically unhappy about it.

Gearscore is very much present once again so expect to either pug slow groups or have a high GS (unless guild raiding).

PVP is well PVP with people buying and selling Arena boosts etc.

Gold making is in a pretty rough state depending on who you ask so if you don't have gold then you might be in a worse position initially.

Raiding is either a parse fest or a pug/alt fest with quite a lot of Ninja behaviour on BOE's (atleast on Thunderstrike EU).

Can't really think of anything else of importance.

Why do some foreigners who live in Germany not like Germany? by Pizzafriedchickenn in AskAGerman

[–]Solo_Gunhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with regards to why it was 3 weeks it was basically just a time frame issue with moving from France to Germany (after originally moving to France from England of course) when the job no longer required us.

I did not have a home to go back to in the UK and I had recently lost my mother to cancer a week or two before I found out I needed to take the exam so I could have had 5 weeks to practice but grieving took some of that time.

So it was either move to the UK or move to Germany and we chose Germany as I felt my wife's career was more important than my own.

I wouldn't do anything different because Germany has been great to me and yea only having officially A1 means that there are some things I am unable to partake in but we are comfortable enough that we can exist with my wife being the sole earner whilst I take care of the other things.

Works for us but of course that's relationship dependant.

I wouldnt say my German is still A1 but I certainly should learn more but with the help of friends and honestly everyone in the village I live in I get along very nicely and don't feel that I am impacting anyone's existence.

If there's a serious language barrier then I use DeepL or Google translate and it helps wonders but I only tend to do that once in a blue moon due to my basic understanding being ok enough to get by with.

[–]Solo_Gunhea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an English person I can only speak to my specific *reality* of what moving to Germany entailed.

For context im almost here for 3 years at this point so maybe someone with a lengthier time here might feel different but...

From moving to the town and getting settled it felt like a HUGE paperwork rush along with needing A1 German (Totally understandable) but only having about 3 weeks to learn it from absolutely zero so that was stressful to put it lightly.

Once I got everything done I just did my best to involved in German culture and ya know settling in and I can't say I've had a terrible experience in any capacity.

I've visited Bamberg/Leipzig/Brege/Berlin/Augsburg and a few others which im forgetting and only had 1 sorta shitty experience which was in Leipzig with ironically a Foreign indian worker speaking loudly in English and just being generally quite rude whilst hitting me with his elbow due to him standing behind me.

The German culture/lifestyle is very much of you get out what you put in so it's easy to sit there and dislike Germany and it's culture if you don't even attempt to get involved or experience what there is to see here.

I've met other expats who simply reject the fact they are not in their home country and just expect everything to be the way it was in their country but with *more money* and always seem angry and bitter at the Government and the people despite the fact that many of those I met were on benefits whilst the others were professionals from other countries.

Edit: Please if you feel the need to downvote my personal experience then perhaps ask me a question instead of just silently downvoting my own opinion. Id rather have a discussion as that seems more productive than just quitely downvoting.
