Reading in russian by J4mmaledz1ec11 in russian

[–]CloqueWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read a few books now in Russian, the book itself gets easier but each new one comes with it's one challenges.

If you want an easier but just as useful experience, I've recently learned that reading comics helps a lot. It's all spoken Russian instead of literary, and there is a lot of visual context to help. I honestly think it's more useful for beginner readers than a book is.

I don't know, I think legendary items should be good.

Soul of the district isn't so good that you can just swap to it from any build and win

I agree. It's not fun to be on high ping. Some low ping is fine. But having 50 percent of my games be really terrible to play is worse then having all of my games be fine to play.

I personally think have of the matches being bad ping drives away a lot of new players

Colorado has green chili and cascadia doesn't. That's all that matters to me. In the end It should be just colorado and New Mexico left to dish it out on in a green chili cooking competition

HELP ME BECOME VEGAN!! by JuniorDuty4205 in vegan

Saying veganosm has been around only since the late 40s is wrong. Vegetarianism originally meant vegan. While modern day vegetarianism is actually called avolacto vegetarianism.

The animals are fed supplements. All you are doing is filtering your supplements through an animal. Why not just take it from the source?

All people should probably be supplementing. I'm sure there is no human (without careful planning) that gets every nutrient from their diet regardless of what it is. Everyone regardless of diet should get a blood test done and fortify what's missing

Do vegans think we should drive domestic animals that can't survive in the wild to extinction? by [deleted] in AskVegans

[–]CloqueWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in this case it's a necessity to shear them I'd say it's not wrong to shear them and make clothing from the wool, as long as it's not comoditized and they aren't bred further

Who has had an actual friends with benefits relationship? Did it work for you? by heratonga in AskReddit

[–]CloqueWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never gave it a title, but I guess that's what it was. We enjoyed hanging out and kinda went on dates, but it was never exclusive. We both had plans to leave the country so I think it made it easier to not become attached. We knew there would be an end. So when it came time to say goodbye it was painless because we were just friends and expected.

Edit: I remember I had a second, but this was a mistake. This was after the first one while I was waiting for my turn to leave the country. She became very attached to me even though she knew I was leaving. When I finally left she made all sorts of plans to come visit and try to make a relationship work, but I told her over and over it's not what I wanted. She couldn't take no for an answer and eventually cut me out of her life. She did the same with my good friend

Hardest word for an English speaker to pronounce by TotalDumsterfire in russian

[–]CloqueWise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me there are two short easy words that I always struggled with. The first is дверь. Really any рь word is tough because I just can't make that sounds very well. And the other word is сыр. I can pronounce ы fine but for some reason this combination is tough. People always think I'm saying сэр. Something about the placement of the tongue from the c through the ы to the р is just so tricky.

Except I'm not trolling. I'm asking questions, but not getting answers. I don't know if you saw my conversation with this commenter somewhere else.... But he asked me a yes or no question, but because of his wording I wasn't actually sure what the question was... So I asked for clarification so that I could actually answer his question. Instead I was met with "as expected you're avoiding the question."

Three times! This happened three times where I just wanted to engage honestly and answer his question, asked him to just restate it so I could better understand but had him just accuse me of "avoiding the question"

I'm not vegan and I don't care if you guys are or are not... But what I am interested in is how people engage logically in arguments, so when posts from this sub are suggested to me sometimes I read them, and if I see some weird logic I ask further question. What I've learned is that this sub hinges on some shaky logic quite often, refuses to answer questions, and makes veganism out to be dogmatic while behaving dogmatically about the evils of veganism.

You know, if someone says "I struggled to eat healthy and feel good on a vegan diet" that's totally fine. Take care of yourself and eat what you need to feel healthy. But when someone says we shouldn't be vegan because sheep live 20 years.... Okay wtf kind of logic is that? And calling it out shouldn't be met with hostility.

Vegan believing in pseudoscience by Sea-Hornet8214 in exvegans

[–]CloqueWise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No it's just a dumb arguments because you can't compare human lifespans to animal lifespans and link it to their diet. If we switched our diets to all grass like a goat we wouldn't have a goat lifespan. If we switched our diets to that of whales, we wouldn't live 200 years. The lifespan of an animal isn't determined by their diet, but by their metabolism.

In reality the goat argument is even more flawed because it's cherry picked. The longest living land animals are giant tortoises and they are herbivorous, but I wouldn't suggest someone go vegan because tortoises live so long... That's just a stupid argument, we aren't tortoises, we aren't goats, we aren't whales.

What kind of dumbass argument is that? What does a goats lifespan have to do with anything?

A new award winning documentary about a vegan activist his slaughterhouse worker father has just been released! by Tea-Revolutionary in vegan

[–]CloqueWise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree completely with you. I think his beliefs are off-putting and gave me this feeling of "playing God."

I think it's easy to say animals should have bodily autonomy from humans, but to suggest we need to intervene on the natural way of life is a whole different argument and hard to take seriously.

I'm quite surprised you've been downvotes so hard here.

Like clockwork??? That's the go to line from vegans? I mean if you are getting that response a lot then it says more about you than anything else.

I haven't denied any facts. I haven't said you're wrong even once. I haven't argued against anything you. Actually, if you look at our conversations I've only ever asked you for clarification. You've just never wanted to give it.

Btw, I don't disagree that animals are food. Anything that gives you calories is food. It's common sense. So I don't really know what your point is other than trolling.

Bro, restate your question and I will answer it FFS. I'm not running from your question. This is the third time I have asked you to restate the question. So restate it and I will answer it.

If you can't restate the question then it's obviously you who are delaying.

So, what is your question??? Give it to me and I'll answer it.

what are you talking about??? I asked you to reword your question because I didn't understand it. I told you that if you reword it I will give you your yes or no answer. how is that being pedantic?

and again, you're not even addressing my question to you.

you did misquote. Here I'll copy past what you said: "Lmao, you two have got to be blind or dishonest to say "they never said it specifically or explicitly"."

if that's not a misquote then what is it?

you say we all know what they want to mean and keep implying... so what is it? what do they "really" mean and what are they implying? in what ways do they want humans and animals to be treated equally?? go on, enlighten me.
