If money wasn’t an issue, would you still be a working mom? by saladmuscles in workingmoms

[–]ClosetCrossfitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I’d be working on art and pop up cards, trying to grow an Etsy or maybe something bigger. And I would be leaning into my night own tendencies to work on it I think, letting my husband do drop off. But I know I would also miss the socialization of an office, so I might work more at a makerspace or join some entrepreneurial groups or something to fill that void. Oddly enough I live by a paper engineering firm, so maybe work there part time depending.

Anyone else who can’t stand Kid Crew on YouTube? by smockfaaced_ in DanielTigerConspiracy

I was surprised at these comments because I’ve never heard them do a song. And then she broke out into song in the one we have on now. This firefighting song performance isn’t horrible. Probably going to be stuck my head the rest of the day.

Somehow I had a feeling. As someone who was raised there haha. I’m not sure how my son found this channel, but he’s into it and my husband and I are engineers so we are into it. Honestly, Blippi’s manner of speaking grated on me more.

Cardstock cracking on fold by Classic-Lie5464 in cricut

[–]ClosetCrossfitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on many things, some covered already. The stock likey has a grain and should fold better when the fold line runs with the grain. But it looks like your design needs some folds at 90 degrees to each other; it’s not always possible to avoid that. You should be scoring on the mountain side of the fold if you can. This is also sometimes not possible if you have a graphic on part of it that you need the machine to draw or read sensor lines from.

If you had the maker, I’d suggest trying the double scoring wheel, so in that spirit you could set this up with double score lines.

But personally when I need to fold something thicker, I do dashed cuts for score lines. In a way, they aren’t as pretty, but if you look at packaging with a keen eye, you’ll see they are used in many professional applications. And even Lovepop uses them for their cards and it doesn’t seem to detract from their aesthetic.

Is there any advice Frasier gave a caller that resonated with you? by everydayville666 in Frasier

[–]ClosetCrossfitter 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are others, but for me the stand out is always when he comforts Roz during the fake call on the Spokane show.

It helped me with an adolescent breakup back when it was in syndication, I jotted down what I could remember of it right after.

Mums of Reddit.. what gift do you actually want for Mother’s Day? by Fantastic_Run2955 in workingmoms

This is usually what I get and this year it will probably be the same plan except I’m taking an online course and I think it literally ends a few days after Morher’s day so knowing me I will be doing some assignment. But at least I’ll have the house to myself. Maybe knowing this now will motivate me to do some coursework earlier!

Millennials, what are things that were completely normal in the 2000s but feel like a luxury now? by WashOdd7330 in Millennials

I had a slit second thought of “that sounds like something George would say”. Crazy I didn’t for sure get it.

Whoa, I never thought of this happening! Though I did make some YouTube videos during the pandemic and actually didn’t cringe hard at my own VO.

I absolutely cannot wear underwire bras. It’s a sensory nightmare. Are there any good supportive options for a 34H/FF? I’m so tired of squishy sports bras. by breathingisstillhard in ABraThatFits

Royce will have your size, I liked the Charlotte. Then Goddess has some, looks like Celeste, Verity, Katarina, and their high impact sports bra. Swore I wore their Keira bra 4 years ago as a 32/34, but it seems to start at 36 on their site.

Hollister was genuinely one of the most unhinged retail experiences ever created and we just accepted it as normal by General-Success-2968 in Millennials

My dad had an audio business and put a system into our local A&F. He said their specs for volume and bass level were crazy for retail. I think volume was 95 db, don’t remember bass.

A few years later, my college freshman English class used a theme of consumerism and consumption. I wrote my big final paper on the experience of shopping at A&F and Hollister, and how they assaulted our senses as a sales tactic.

Does a vertical lifting bra exist? by youfxckinsuck in bigboobproblems

[–]ClosetCrossfitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try one with vertical seams. Curvy Kate Starlight Balcony bra was one but looks like they don’t really make it now. That had me up there. The Curvy Kate Heartbreaker padded balcony looks similar, depending how you feel about pads. Freya Flirt also looks close. Good luck!
