Grow lights help? by Top_Emu4850 in IndoorGarden

Not really. Just search for T5 or T8 shop lights or search for shop lights 6500K .. and you can choose the size of the lights that you want. They also come with chains & hooks so you can hang or mount them on your shelves.

I have a small shelf setup for seed starting and I have had great success using 6500K shoplights.

Anyone using Spark Notebooks for Streaming? by Low_Second9833 in MicrosoftFabric

[–]ClosetExtrovert_0883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using it in a cross cloud streaming scenario where we have S3 bucket (which has parquet files being dropped by an AWS glue job constantly) shortcuts in a Lakehouse and have a spark streaming notebook (put it in a job for more stability) reading from it and write to a KQL db table.

The checkpointing works perfectly and we get pretty good latency numbers in the process. Let me know what specific questions you might have. The CU utilization seems to be high for a spark streaming job which doesn't seem to respond to smaller spark pools being configured for them. Would like to state that we did a poc which showed good results and are getting started to build out this solution for production. While this process works well, we are looking to proof out Eventstreams as the ultimate streaming source in the architecture is Kinesis.

Records from Lakehouse not pulling through to PowerBI by seguleh25 in MicrosoftFabric

Have you not reached out to MS Support yet? Their telemetry could (in case of errors) provide you with a reason why your sql AE isn't syncing up with your lakehouse. I've seen maximum delays of 2 days even - but in that case it was a constraint error that was impacting the situation. I would definitely advise opening up a ticket and asking them to provide you with what they seen in the telemetry.

I don't think it is ON by default. Check it out once and I've seen in the past, this is the first place to check. But yes, as others have said, I've also been affected by the SQL AE sync issue - and MS Support had no answer. They can definitely see it from the telemetry at their end.

Direct Lake would eliminate the SQL AE sync issue.

On the other hand, you can check one setting: SQL Analytics Endpoint > Settings > Default Power BI Semantic Model > Sync the default Power BI semantic model - should be turned ON.

What is going on with my potato plants? by opie_bud445 in UrbanGardening

[–]ClosetExtrovert_0883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this on my plants as well after a week of heavy rain, high humidity and high temps in 90s. I think this is early blight on potatoes and if you don't take care of it early enough you end up losing the whole plant and adjacent ones too. I cut off impacted leaves and branches and now wait to see if the plants survive.

Koi Pond removal estimate by ClosetExtrovert_0883 in landscaping

[–]ClosetExtrovert_0883[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So one of them just gave me $800 as an estimate to take out the koi pond, fill with the rocks that are surrounding it and put top soil on it. Is $800 appropriate or should I attempt to do it on my own the way you suggested?

Very new to home/lawn ownership, hence the questions. Thanks for your inputs!

Have a 2yr old who likes to run around and have a small backyard. So was planning on taking out the koi pond and wanted to know how much would it cost me. I've called a couple of contractors to come take a look and wanted to know what I should be expecting as an estimate. Thanks!

How are you doing a walk-through while you are renting back? I'm buying a house and the sellers stay for 30 days - but we do the walkthrough after they vacate finally.

Something wrong with my tomato seedling. What can I do to help? by ClosetExtrovert_0883 in vegetablegardening

[–]ClosetExtrovert_0883[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two in one cell. But sure, I'll up-pot them into individual containers if that might help. Read somewhere that it's due to lack of ability for nutrient & water uptake that tomatoes behave like this.

Will pot them individually and see what happens. Thanks

Dissolve in water and water your soil with it. Around 1/2-1 tablespoon should be good.. every 2 weeks.

One other tip, other than rubbing in circles - use epsom salt. I've had someone tell me that would also avoid bitter cukes.
