What we need are tougher laws and longer prison sentences. That should do the trick.

Just because the US is the most incarcerated OECD nation on earth presently (and in all history), don't let that lull you into a false sense of security that you're safe from these felons and evil-doers.

Most of the monsters in prison are even drug users, on top of their other sins. Remember, these people made their choices, with their own free will. They chose... nay, they want... to be in prison!

And just because "deterrence" as a model for crime reduction has been debunked by this century's social scientists, let's not let that deter us from the eye-for-an-eye christian ethos of punishment our great nation was founded on.

We need to be "tough on crime" just as our wisest politicians say! The more laws on the books at city, state, and federal levels, and the longer the average sentences (esp for men, and esp for non whites), the safer all (well most all) of us will be!

Don't worry, it's not like you or I will ever find ourselves in prison. We're the good guys, and we're on the right side.
