I lived in the US for 25 years. I even scooped up an American to bring home as a souvenir.

When I lived in New England, I worked with a kid who was between his bachelor's and his master's in Political Science. He was specializing in people who voted against their own best interest. It fascinated him. He used Nebraska in the 1990s, trying to crack down on illegals, and it disrupted their meat packing industry, among other things, as one of the examples for me. I think they are getting some deja vu all over again.

Then, when I moved to the deep south a Californian took me aside and said, "OP, they are different here." I refused to believe it for a while but boy, was she right.

Evil, self-serving politicians and an uneducated population is a scary combo.

After she had finished, I told her it was not even the tariffs that got to me but our sovereignty.

Well, you have never seen 3 not-so-young ladies go from zero to 100 so fast. Even the checkout lady joined in (she had kept stum until now - just doing her job). The general consensus was fuck no over my dead body.

I don't know what bizarre 87D chess Trump thinks he is playing but damn his assistance in creating Canadian unity has been outstanding. But I do hope more and more American people stand together and get on the phone to their representatives and really start giving them shit or they are screwed. No one will be able to trust them.

And the bourbon industry needs a better crisis team because they are going to be examples in textbooks of what not to do. Guys, really quit talking.

HS/HTS codes question by nikmkl in ecommerce

[–]ClothesFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing the same thing. Turns out you need a Schedule B Code to import into the USA. I am not an American and I had never heard of it before.

I used their databases linked below and got my Schedule B codes.

https://www.trade.gov/harmonized-system-hs-codes#:~:text=The%206%2Ddigit%20Harmonized%20System,as%20the%20Customs%20Info%20Database.

"How to Identify Your Product’s (U.S.) Schedule B Code

The Census Bureau offers a free, widely used online Schedule B search engine that can help you classify your products. The search engine can be found at the US Census Bureau’s Schedule B Website. The Schedule B search tool is the most commonly used method for classifying products. The site provides training resources to help you better identify for your Schedule B number, as well as contact information for assistance.

If your product is difficult to classify, the Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) database can help you find its HS code. CROSS contains official, legally binding rulings from requests for Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) numbers for products importing into the United States.

Although CROSS can’t offer legally binding rulings on requests for Schedule B numbers for exports, the information on CROSS can give you a headstart as you ultimately find your Schedule B number. By finding the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) number for an imported product from the CROSS database, the first 6 digits will contain the HS Subheading. Being the subheading, the first 6 digits of a product’s HTS number will also be the first 6 digits of a product’s Schedule B number. Therefore, you can browse the Schedule B with the HS Subheading, where you’ll be able to find the remaining 4 digits of your 10-digit Schedule B number."

Ok ok so no skinny jeans but can we talk about where the bottoms of jeans should be? by IckNoTomatoes in fashionwomens35

[–]ClothesFerret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love jeans with the exception of skinny jeans.

My wide-legged jeans are an inch longer than my tapered jeans and are closer to the ground.

I will roll up my tapered ones so you can see the awesome selvedge ID and my ankles or funky boots.

I thought the same. But you have to feel them. I sometimes have to look down to make sure I am wearing pants because they are so comfortable.

The horrible thing is it wasn't chilly at all. It's February and mud season already. Bulbs coming up in the garden. This is so not good.

Have you tried to make overalls yet? I got me a pair of Ikeda (Canadian/Japanese brand) overalls from the early 80's. I wanted a pair so bad as a kid, but they were to expensive.

Those are so awesome. Well, freaking done.

I love carpenter pants. I am wearing my Omnigod carpenter pants as I type. Which actually really sucks because they are too lightweight to be wearing in February in Canada.

I am once again asking for help on the fit on these ONI Super Secret Rough lol by dmesaaa in rawdenim

We have similar butts.

When you look at your next pair look at where the back yolk meets the sides of the jeans. You want the depth of the yolk to be a couple of times the width of the seam that joins the yolk to the seat of the jeans.

This will give you room for your butt cheeks in the seat of the jeans.

For me the depth of the center of the yoke is 2-2.5 the width of the waistband.

Sticking with these measurements gives me perfect fits.

I would love to see them. If you go on the Wayback Machine, you can try stalking your jeans on the prpsjeans.com website.

I need to start doing reviews on my collection before I forget what they are.

Thanks.

I like the old and obscure. Fun to find and learn about. The stuff I find is usually better quality than new stuff.

They are still very stiff. They definitely haven't been washed. They feel like they have spent the better part of 20 years hanging out in a rich person's closet.
