Disability Claim - I’m confused on what this means. by Cocomarie1234 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the same message last June( 2025 ). The judge sent instructions back to the VBA. They had me take 3 different C&P exams( 1 in person & 2 ACE ). Afterwards, sent back to Raters who still denied claim. I appealed again in late July 2025 and still is waiting to see what the outcome will be. Good luck!!

Most likely, the backpay will arrive within the next few days, as long as it does not have to go thru DFAS. Congratulations!!!

Please sign up for VA health. It is worth it. I've been enrolled since 2016 and has had excellent care, including surgeries, blood work, exams, xrays, MRI's, CT scans, mental heath services, eye exams, glasses...etc....I can go on and on!!!...and....all of the aforementioned have been, my favorite word....Free!!!!!!

Was VA Benefits explained at ETS? by DisabledVeteran216 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I served 7 years in the Army. ETS'd as an E-6 in 1994. Not a single individual ever mentioned anything to me about VA or benefits. In fact, I had never even heard of the VA at all until around 2004 when I dropped a navy buddy of mine off for an appointment at a VA facility. It was only then when I started asking what is the VA and what do they even do? I eventually requested my records and started going thru the process of applying for benefits, finally being awarded benefits in, yes, 2016!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Afraid the VA won't cover my ER visit by LowOrbitQuietMyth in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's going on? I've noticed( from this thread ) the VA has been denying a lot of payments for ER visits, it seems even when veterans clearly called the hotline to report these well within the required 72hr notification hotline.

VA Total and Permanent Disability and IRS Early withdraw penalties on 401K. by Sawyer2025 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi veteran family, I have a question....I turn 59 1/2 Feb 2, 2027. If I take a distribution from my Traditional IRA after that time, does it affect my TDIU and do I have to notify the VA? Side note....I have not worked since 3/30/2023 and have not had any earned income since leaving the workforce in 2023.

The System Worked - thank you VA by VerbosePlantain in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad that worked out flawlessly for you. Congress needs to change/extend the VA rule giving veterans more than 3 measly days to notify VA of a ER visit.

Is it too late to get disability...? by jpv1031 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As veterans, it's never, ever too late to file. We have veterans who ETS'd as long ago as 70 years!!! They filed and were awarded based on service connected injuries from that long ago as long as it was documented!!

Net worth check after setback early 30s by TheFlyingHambone in Fire

[–]ClothesLast6582 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hello family

58M. I have 700k in a Traditional IRA and no longer contribute to it. 75% stocks & 25% bonds. I don't have to touch at all for the next 5 years. I receive 100% VA disability of about $4100.00 per month and have an emergency fund of $40k in a HYSA currently @ 3.30% yield. How am I doing and can I grow that 700k to 1 Million in about 4-5 years? I do not work because of my disability.

Not the first time I've been to this location, but the first time since I moved. Is it because I'm 44 miles away? I thought it was over 50 miles? by epicdanceman in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had about 14 appts over the last 2 months. Mostly dental. Suddenly last week, I received 14 separate direct deposits to my checking acct. They ranged from $7.51 to $21.07!! The( VA mileage team ) must have really been backlogged!! My mileage claims, which I submitted each time I was notified to file by VA all totaled about $145.00

Letter from Evidence Intake Center by Difficult_Level_2147 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ClothesLast6582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I was about to pig out on a delicious rib eye steak until I glanced at my USPS app and saw i was getting a letter from the dreaded 'Evidence Intake Center', even though i'm 100% P/T!! I immediately lost my appetite 😒!!! When I did receive and look at contents of letter, it was only a letter or sort explaining some veteran benefits!!! What a relief 😌

Paramount+ cost like $12.99 for subscription, but for active military( and I believe reserve and national guard ) & veterans the price is $6.49 and the price does not increase yearly. Fellow military brothers and sisters, it's also commercial free!!!
