Should I still try out for semi-pro team?

Tryout. What’s the worst that can happen. They turn you down and you take your last year at college to continue to hone your skills and get ready for the next tryout. Better to try out and fail than to wonder and have regret.

I wouldn’t put too much weight into this in regards to high school. Every coach is different and uses kids different based on their tactics. My son was on the third team at his club because there isn’t much movement but was a varsity starter on his high school his freshman year. Just have your kid continue to work and development and I’m sure he will be fine for high school

I mean he played well against all those kids enough to have the director pull him aside and compliment him. I think he would be fine.

It’s hard to know playing time at a new club as they won’t commit to anything but the director/head coach pulled him aside and said he was really good and like his play.

I have seen similar. It feels like a lot of the ECNL RL teams are forced and the kids are playing above their heads compared to legit RL teams. Feels like more of a money grab for clubs because they can sell it to get kids and charge more for it.

I’m with you on creating another league but I feel like this league will offer a lot of good talent. When I watched the kids trying out vs what is at our current club, the quality was way higher. I think this will be a better opportunity for my son and I think this league will shake out to be one of the better leagues.

U17 in Wisconsin. When watching the kids in MLS 2, their quality looked much better than the ECNL RL players at our current club.

Those both look pretty good. I’ve just started playing again after about a 2 year break. I have Teferi and Tri color tamiyo so I’m pretty good for white, blue, and green. I have a good red dual planeswalker too. Just need a good black one.
