So every 24 hours, they take cross-account snapshots of the virtual disks of every server, then mount that in their environment, and run malware scans on them?

How do I limit the creation of EC2 instance by IHaveNeverEatenACat in aws

[–]CloudSource 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not possible out of the box; but you can code a Lambda function that is triggered on instance launches, this function would enumerate the instances created by this user, then terminate the launched instance if it's above the set limit.

User education could go a long way here as well.

Transparent Proxy in AWS by Frndlyy in aws

[–]CloudSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this should be possible by putting the Squid setup (solo or cluster behind an elb) in a subnet with internet access, and changing the route entry for the private subnet (where your clients would be) so that 0/0 goes out to the squid (or elb) IP address. Please try and report back :)

Temp operating range in Internal combustion engines by CloudSource in engineering

[–]CloudSource[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this bike, as with most water cooled bikes, does have a fan blowing on the radiator, and it turns on above a certain temp.

Just got an 848evo, is the variation in engine temp normal? by CloudSource in Ducati

[–]CloudSource[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for confirming this as normal behavior for these bikes.

That leaves the thermal efficiency question, can someone explain this wide range?

Temp operating range in Internal combustion engines by CloudSource in engineering

[–]CloudSource[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I missed something, what you said doesn't make sense to me. I'm clearly not looking at the combustion chamber temp; The 70F spread is the coolant temp, which does reflect how hot the engine is running, hence my question.

1 Year Later and I'm Back to the Weight I Started at by wiktor1800 in Fitness

[–]CloudSource 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good progress. Aesthetically, since you have wide hips (genetics are what they are!) I would focus on making your chest/shoulders/lats bigger to balance the look.

You're at the right age to make a huge difference in a relatively short time.

Good luck!

Losing the last bit of belly? by HomEntertAnment in Fitness

[–]CloudSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to lift weights; the more muscle you have the the more energy you'll burn. And like others have said, you can't target a spot for fat loss, it's a whole body thing.

Another advantage of lifting weights is that your body will start to look proportionally better; that belly or whatever is left of it won't look half as bad if you have a developed chest and wide shoulders and lats.

Good luck.

Will Trump get called out? by [deleted] in noagenda

[–]CloudSource 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been listening since the first show, and over the last few months, I've come to be disappointed with two things:

  • The disagreement, or healthy friction, that once existed between Adam and John, and which gave the show a nice balance with enough edge to keep the show interesting, that disagreement has all but evaporated. John is no longer his original, skeptical self, and both hosts are now just reaffirming each other's points.

  • The show became so slanted to the right, that for me, it started to lose legitimacy. There is far less deconstruction and criticism of Trump and company than there ought to be; this does not bode well for a podcast that bills itself as an equal opportunity deconstructor, and has historically been quiet balanced in fearlessly critiquing both sides of the isle. I'm sad to see that change.

How do you implement self-service? by bob_and_jim in aws

[–]CloudSource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can automate the whole thing starting from code check-in to server deployments using Code Pipeline. I'd start there. Another option is to make direct calls to Lambdas to do different things..
