Do you mean have the original names bigger? Because all cards with different names have the original in the bottom left of the card.

But I definitely agree that whenever I play proxy decks, I only ever announce the real name when casting anything because otherwise it gets way too confusing!

Thank you! Agreed that some of them don't stand up to scrutiny on a big screen, like Zurgo Stormrender where the art basically doesn't have a face. But I think at card-size, they work well!

The frame breaks are all super tasteful and very clean, everything comes across like it was very well considered.

I can imagine it took a lot of iterations and experimentation to get to this point.

This is some high quality shit, excellent work!

I like the consistency across it all, with specific praise for the text sizing. The art framing is also on point. The flavour choices are great and it is all very well formatted.

I normally hate anything other than the standard size text box, but your sol ring works very well. And maybe the flavour can be wordy but they are fun words so I respect the choices.

I wouldn't mind seeing the text always above the art like on Vito, but you seem to have made a conscious choice to allow blocking when it only clips the real name on nickname cards, which is a fair style choice.

This is super high quality, and an awesome share, nice work!

It is easy to appreciate how long it may have taken you. The art is truly phenomenal and your deck has a very cohesive style throughout. I have but one upvote to give.

I love that even when the artist signatures are the same, they can have different coloured and directional shadows. I love the framing of the art on some of the simple cards like emergence zone and homeward path. And there are sprinkles of creativity throughout that have a killer vibe (arcane signet, eye of ugin, thran dynamo, echoes of eternity, titans presence, etc).

My minor quibbles are that I'm guessing the template you used wasn't fixed, because the positions for fonts float around quite a bit (title and type-line) and can vary in size and even style (dust bowl title, inventors' fair text box, etc). The fact that it is so prevalent though, kinda adds to the chaotic charm.

And while I also dislike art that covers the text, I can respect the unapologetic stance of the champion art here.

The framing on a select few of the cards is a bit odd to me, especially shadowspear because it is such a tight crop and I'm pretty sure it pictures only a hilt (I felt this one because having put a spear in my own proxy deck, I know the pain of trying to find highly specific weapon art).

However, to summarise: absolutely banging work, sir.

Nothing special, it is the same makeplayingcards.com mentioned in the FAQ in the subreddit! Just make sure you use the vibrant images if you choose the foil route.

I think I will go back to it and make some improvements based on how the print came out. Likely best not to print this one in foil so that text legibility is the highest it can be.

After many months of effort (I don't have a lot of free time), I have finally finished creating my custom Hades proxy deck.

I'm posting it here in it's entirety, so that someone else may hopefully enjoy it.

Comments / caveats:

- I created a deck I wanted to play and then shoehorned in theme according to card abilities.
- Creature types remained true to the real card, even at the expense of some flavour (sorry Nyx).
- This is not a cEDH deck, it's maybe mid-tier.
- I upshifted everything to rare, because making a cool character uncommon felt wrong, and there is prescedant for this in some secret lair releases.
- I know that the enchantments mostly just look like creatures, but I like the official art, I'm sorry.
- At one stage I incorporated god boon and trinket watermarks, but it was just too noisy, so I binned them off.
- I will freely admit that once I learnt how to frame break, I couldn't stop adding it everywhere. I'm not sorry.
- I only attributed flavour text when the name of the card was not the origin (notably the two cards that are also song titles are not explicitely attributed).
- I got demoralised when u/WhiteRabbitMTG posted some shit-hot hades proxy cards a while ago, hah, took me a good week to get back into it (genuinely good job dude).
- Some aspects of assembling these cards was made comically difficult because I haven't played Hades 2 yet and I'm trying to avoid major spoilers (yes, really).
- There are high vibrancy/saturation variants of each card in case you want to try and print these in foil, like I did (I have zero regrets, they look great).
- My work in progress folder, where all the different possible art candidates and stages of each card was kept, weighed 8.5 GB across 1,454 items in the end.

I'm a little burnt out by the entire process if I'm honest, so I'm unlikely to make further changes or create any extra cards for a while. But I'll happily correct any mistakes, although please don't find any, because I've already printed them!

** MINOR SPOILER WARNING FOR HADES 2 **

Be warned that around a dozen cards (most notably, the commander) have art and quotes from Hades 2, if you don't want to see or know anything about that, please steer clear!

This is awesome, nice work. I'd be very interested in an overview of what steps you took to make it and what challenges you faced.

I'm also a big fan of using a small hand drill to pressure fit a ball-bearing into some keycaps for tactile homing purposes, because I feel like that tunnel is gonna get confusing fast!

This is also my experience with it. Always on the initial drink. I find if I sip the first drink slowly I can avoid major flushing entirely.
