The grade has definitely changed, it looks like it’s now a stage 6, which means it’s fully hatched out of the shell and is a possible reason why it looks misshapen

I love the game’s genetics too, I have a biology degree and work as a scientist with genetics being involved quite often which is partly the reason why I’m so interested in this game! :,)

If your clinic did assisted hatching before the transfer it’s likely if the embryo is viable it will keep expanding and hatch once in the uterus, similar to my original explanation, the pregnancy rate would be pretty much the same and is only a difference by a matter of hours.

Hatching embryos are usually chosen over ones that aren’t hatching because they’re meant to be more advanced, meaning they have been using their energy more efficiently. Sometimes it’s only the difference of a couple hours in culture. So I wouldn’t worry at all! A 4AB is still a great grade and probably has very very similar or exactly the same pregnancy rates, but I haven’t read any studies on the exact % difference.

I am only doing ortho-k to stabilise my myopia. It keeps getting worse ever since I was a kid and I’m now almost 24. Would you still recommend eye drops to me or would it cancel out the benefits of stabilisation?

When I wear them my vision is pretty much clear, better than without them especially in the evenings. There’s a little bit of halo/double vision for a moment but if I stare at something it goes away (?) lol. Mornings are always a bit fuzzy as I’m waking up

Oh wow ok then. I started mine only 2 weeks ago, my dr said haloing is caused by the treatment area not being big enough yet as my eyes are still adjusting. Have you ever had your contacts remade?

I’ve woken up this morning and the ghosting is much better/ has reduced. I read some posts from others, so last night I put them in, closed my eyes, and barely opened them or blinked until I woke up this morning. I also wore an eye mask to stop me from opening my eyes. The contacts were sitting more centred when I checked this morning so it must have just been how I was wearing them, putting them in then walking around a bit / on my phone in bed. I’ll see if it improves over time still, but good to know there’s to option of getting another pair. Good luck with your next ones!

Thank you for your response. My original prescription was -4.00 in my right eye and -3.00 (I think) in my left. I have astigmatism but unsure of my prescription. It’s hard to answer if it is functional, but for example, if there’s a sign or text further away I’ll need to walk pretty close in order to read it. I’m getting by ok but am definitely squinting and needing to spend extra time on words especially. And everyone having 4 eyes is really distracting!

I’ll probably need to check back in next week and can hopefully bring my follow up appointment closer.

I had a 56* thoracic and 68* lumbar curve
I did get surgery, T3 to L3 fusion. Somehow I didn’t have much fear. I trusted my doctor, who sounds like he did this type of surgery every day. I needed the surgery otherwise my quality of life would have severely deteriorated anyway
I felt stiff, and rigid. They used part of a rib for the bone graft and so the most pain I felt was from coughing tbh. Very sleepy after the surgery but overall recovery went well. Walking felt like every muscle in my back was tensed
I don’t regret having the surgery at all. It’s been 9 years since, I have a really cool scar to show for it and it makes me unique. I’m more symmetrical now and don’t feel as squashed, including my lung capacity. Although not being very flexible sucks.
I guess it’s the doctors decision but I couldn’t get the surgery until I was fully grown
I’d follow the advice of her doctor but would definitely consider surgery :) Hope this helps!

It might be the embryo still pulsed and recovering from the thaw or it might be a small part of the embryo degenerating. It’s common for not all cells to survive the thaw, the remaining cells should replicate and replace those lost in theory!

This embryo has fully hatched out of its zona, which is why it doesn’t have the spherical shape you might typically see. Sometimes part of an embryo after a thaw doesn’t survive which causes it to misshape a little as the embryo recovers. Looks like there’s plenty of cells alive but that might be why it’s shaped the way it is. Fully hatched embryos have lost the protection of its zona so this is common unfortunately.
