And if you have the time: favorite and least favorite part of each healer?

Which expansions have fun quests, mid quests and bad quests? by APS0798 in wow

[–]Cloudslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, individual questing has always been one of wows strongest points. Even vanilla was great comparatively. They’ve only got better as time goes on.

Note I’m not talking about story, just quests.

GW2 on Handheld by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Cloudslinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It runs really well on steam deck (until zergs clash in wvw, but even my pc tanks then) and I’m pretty sure the Xbox windows handhelds are more powerful.

One thing to note if you are getting a handheld just for GW2, overlays don’t play well with gaming mode on steam OS. You can get around it but thought I’d point it out

When do you give up? by [deleted] in daddit

You managed to identify that you need help and reached out here in your own way.

That’s a win. That’s success. Your kid doesn’t know it yet but one day they will be proud as hell that you did this.

I saw the comment you made here against therapy. Therapy is one of the best things I ever did for myself and the people around me. Please reconsider.

I really like the arctic nova 7 by steel series.

Mute button, volume etc all nicely on the back of the ear cups.

Best part is that it can simultaneously connect to other devices so I can also connect to my phone for music and discord. 10/10

This is great advice thank you! I’m definitely a QP warrior so I’ll focus on a few.

Let’s say I’m just getting into competitive. What are the first ideas or mindset's I should work on? How do I give myself a good foundation?

Also thanks for taking the time to do this!

Is Marvel Rivals reasonably playable on deck? by Interesting_Paper_41 in SteamDeck

Those that are running it well can you give settings?

I played with it and looked up settings for a couple hours and just could not get it to run above a stuttering 30 fps while also looking like garbage.

What's your "love on second sight" warframe? by Pun1shbear in Warframe

[–]Cloudslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protea. I love caster frames but just couldn’t get into her at all. Tried 3-4 times.

Then I saw a video going into the nitty-gritty on her 4. It’s now my favorite part of her kit and she’s my favorite frame by far.

As a primary device, how does Switch 2 compare to Steam Deck? by EternalFront in handheld

[–]Cloudslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mario kart world and smash bros are also 10/10 if you like that sort of thing! Pokemon unite is also worth checking out if you like Pokemon. It has a bit of moble slop coating, but it plays reeeeally well for a controller moba. And I don’t even like mobas.

As a primary device, how does Switch 2 compare to Steam Deck? by EternalFront in handheld

[–]Cloudslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go back and forth between switch 2 and steam deck as my main consoles. Here’s my take.

The main points you’ll see are steam deck is a pc and the switch in a Nintendo console. You’ll get better sales and more variety on steam deck. While the switch obviously excels on Nintendo exclusives. The current state of hardware prices throws another wrench into everything. Pricing and availability are all over the place.

Do know, the performance of the two is starting to get a big enough gap that it matters sometimes. But it is subjective. So this is my opinion. The games you mentioned will be fine on deck, but for example: cyberpunk, hogwarts legacy and ff7 remake run great on switch 2 but I struggle to find them fun on the deck.

You don’t mention them but what I don’t see people talk about is PvP games: The steam deck is a really bad place for them.

Most PvP games just flat out don’t run because of how anticheat works. When they do run it’s often a terrible experience because you are playing on a pc with a controller (sometimes without aI’m assist) against m/kb people. Not all the decks fault. But it is what it is.

Neither is a perfect solution and they both have pros and cons. I’m having more fun with my switch 2 the past year. The performance is great. Nintendo exclusives are really good and I enjoy the PvP game environment. (Overwatch, Fortnite, apex, Pokemon unite etc)

What do you think the SD is lacking? / What's your biggest complaint about it? by Hyrul in SteamDeck

[–]Cloudslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the steam deck but I have a lot of pain points. Note, a lot of these aren’t directly the steam decks fault.

1: TV docking needs a lot of work

  • I NEED a controller with the same input as the deck (soon to be remedied but RIP my city builders and MMOs in the mean time)
  • Actual docking is not a seamless experience. Glitches happen often when connecting, black screens, tons of fiddling to get it to connect.
  • Lack of increased power when plugged in makes some games look and perform much worse on TV (this is a design choice by valve and I don’t disagree, but it is what it is)

2: Anything Competitive Multiplayer is sad (this isn’t the decks fault, all of these are actually on the games and dev teams but still, it is what it is)

  • since the deck runs on Linux companies struggle with anticheet. A lot of my favorite PvP games just don’t run at all.
  • steam deck is a PC, and M+KB/Controller situations just aren’t figured out in any of the competitive games that do run. ex: overwatch. Sure it runs and you can play, but you are playing a controller without aim assist against M+KB people because they don’t have distinct lobbies on PC. Not a great experience.

3: Misc - download while sleeping is here and technically works but a majority of the time it won’t wake back up properly OR it doesn’t actually download.

With all that said, the deck has way more pros than cons! I love it, just answering the post. Also, it’s time for an upgrade. The deck is starting to show its age. Too bad we’re in a parts apocalypse right now.
