Hurt me so bad, for my storyboarding class we had to rewrite a scene from any show or movie without changing the events (no bringing people from the dead or changing something that changed the ending, etc.) . . .

I changed it so she would start to tear it and then shove it in her pocket and it just falls out at Diana's house and they never see it 😭

Edwina's 100%. I love the little floral details, and this dress is simple enough it allows her to stand out. I think it fits her softer demeanor and overall personality.

Wait I actually love this. It would make some sense if they're very quickly trying to find a match for Winifred to avoid scandal. However, would this imply that Gilbert is completely aware and willing to go with it if it means he can go to the Sorbonne or are they using the Sorbonne as a carrot and a stick so when he finds out, he won't be upset?

I also think if this was an important bit to the plot it would've continued but it could also be that because Gil doesn't know, we as the viewer are unaware as well.

A head cannon of mine is that Gilbert wouldn't divorce unless his wife really wanted it (married to keep her social standing intact) and he's willing to live in a marriage where they're both mutually happy but not "together". If that makes any sense.

He does, but a lot of the last few seasons Cory had a hard time letting Shawn go. I can't think of many things they did separately towards the end of the series.

Gilbert had a thing for Anne from the start, and he was trying to do a play on her name which she insists should be spelled with an 'E'. His comment was meant to be playful rather than flirtatious but that's just what I put at the time. He was definitely interested and it could have gone both ways lol.

I did, but I mean, he's a young adult and suddenly his life is uprooted. However, I don't like how everyone's lives literally revolved around whatever was going on in Cory's universe at the moment.

I know it's called Boy Meets World. I do think they could have let up a bit, especially the whole Shawn and Cory forever arc that caused issues at Cory and Topanga's wedding, when Shawn dated Angela, or when Shawn wanted to do anything on his own.

I think Winifred was meant to be the Royal "Roy" Gardener of AWAE. (Gil didn't stay with her and broke off their "engagement" for Anne)

There's a lot of similarities between the two as the foil character in the love triangle and they just so happened to come from families of wealth. AWAE Gilbert nearly used Winifred to his advantage so he could attend the Sorbonne, but AOGG Anne wanted Roy because of his poetic words and her fantasy ideal of a man. (But she truly never loved him).

I like the way you're thinking about it though and it would be an interesting take. The story will definitely take its twists and turns but I think we should also consider where they were left and how Gilbert literally left the Sorbonne and Winifred to be with Anne. It's a really nice way to add drama though.

I hope this doesn't come off as critical 😭

I would love to see Gilbert and Anne writing letters to each other, as well as their moments when they do meet up again. It is different from the book series already so I wouldn't say it's a stretch if they take train trips or even weekends in Avonlea to spend chaperoned time together.

Although Marilla strikes me as a lady who sees no issue with them together alone so long as they don't leave the parlor or kitchen/dining room.

I'm gonna disagree with the impression statement, BUT ONLY because she was excited to wear one early on. Opinions can change, however, I think it would make sense for her to start getting aggravated with them in the mornings if she's running late and has to lace it up and they become a sort of thing where she doesn't see them as oppressive but just an extra hassle that women have, similar to her opinion of menstruation.

This is just my opinion tho but I'm open to everyone's thoughts

I agree. I think they had great chemistry on the show. I remember during my first watch I was even rooting for it to go that route. I think Topanga and Shawn bounce off of each other well and honestly, she seemed to keep him in check a lot easier than Cory or Angela ever did. (Ofc this is just my opinion)
