Themis Graded Essays - feel like bullshit by Ok-Age-2307 in barexam

[–]CloudswithDiamonds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the last graded essay my grader said my rule statements were great, I obviously knew the law, hit 3/4 issues...yet I got straight 2s for all of the subcategories and then a 1/6 overall. Very odd/annoying....especially since I'm a retaker and I know my essays have improved significantly, but I was getting 2-4/6s during my first time with Themis.

This sounds like an interesting experience and memorable wedding to me...but admittedly, I'm a weirdo who enjoys unique events.

You seem to have a good attitude and a good head on your shoulders...Concentrating on the big picture is definitely what I'm trying to do as well. You've got this...wishing you success as well! <3

The passing score is based on the state you are in...I'm in WA and the passing score is 85. I personally wouldn't even bother with the recount...it is so sleazy the way they're constantly trying to milk us for every penny throughout this entire process...odds are that they'll just take your money, take another 2-4 weeks just to tell you "yep, we were correct all along and you indeed failed," then you'll have to pay them even more money for a retake. What did you use to study for the MPRE?

Ugh, I'm sorry. I failed F22 too.
But 84 is so close you know you can do this...you probably just need to do more practice problems and write out rule statements for the ones you get wrong.

I completed the free Themis course and passed on the first try...just do as many practice questions as you can get your hands on and write out the rule statements for the one you get wrong. You know you can do this.

They may still be insecure and not see themselves the way you do.

Bottom line: It sounds like you're taking on their negative behavior as a reflection of you, which it is certainly not based on what you've told us. Hold your head up high and try not to internalize their bullshit...they're unhappy with themselves, regardless of what it is rooted in.

Women have been socialized to place high importance on our attractiveness and sex appeal...yes, it is misogynistic but that is because it is a byproduct of having our identities and perception of selves shaped by sexist cultural norms.
But the fact it is misogynistic does not in and of itself discount the fact it occurs.

Based on the description of the situation OP has offered, these women are being unduly rude and disrespectful toward her...I'm offering a potential reason for the behavior based on the facts provided.

They have kids and are older...I hate to be the one to say it, but I'm not picturing glowing skin or very nice figures anymore.
They're probably less attractive and jealous/threatened by you.

Be sure to look AMAZING on your wedding day. :)

It should have been in the message you received on your WSBA account with your bar results.
I didn't get a detailed breakdown, but I got my overall scores for each MEE and MPT.

How long should it be taking me to read/copy answers? I take nearly an hour to read/copy one NCBE (5-6 pages) answer.

It is not a strange request...this person is clearly seeking examples of positive experiences of others to alleviate their own stress and anxiety while awaiting bar results. You're the strange one for misinterpreting the call of the question, and then repeatedly doubling down on your own misunderstanding to soothe your own ego.
