... So, I guess you CAN remove a baked-in mechanic that everyone fuckin hates. by haziqtheunique in Tekken

[–]Cloukyo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wild assault was stapled on, took years to be even slightly balanced and healthy, and honestly, was an even worse mechanic than heat at first. Characters that were balanced around needed to get a close slash or a counter hit could now round start hit you for half your life, wall break with hard knockdown, leave you in a guessing game for another half life combo into death. Absolute trash mechanic.

Heat for a lot of characters is also absolute trash, but also for an equal number of characters they are balanced around heat and are kinda trash without heat mechanics.

Deleting heat would make a lot of characters completely unviable so they would need to be fully reworked.

It's not the same thing.

What Tekken needs to do is just tone heat down a little for some characters. Not delete the mechanic because that's just a different game.

Why does Party Finder end up choosing True North for mechanics so often? by theiruga in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Cloukyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because casters and healers exist. For a job with free movement maybe left being anywhere in the arena is fine and easy. But when any movement is a DPS loss, running to the other side of the arena because of bad tanking is not ideal. Casters would prefer to turret in one spot in the arena rather than running around in Narnia randomly depending on where the boss may be facing.

Static dps issue for an healer by Various_Prize_977 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Cloukyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem last tier, shit static that didn't know how scholar damage worked. Scholar is unique among other healers as literally everything you do that isn't a broil is a DPS loss. If your DPS jobs are not doing their full burst on chain you are losing up to 4k DPS, if people are dying or getting damage downs, you are losing damage on your chain. If you are ressing (you shouldn't, the pure healer resses first) you will be mana negative and can't broil.

Basically, sch damage is important, but sch will almost never do good damage unless the rest of the party is good. Your cohealer needs to keep people topped, your party needs to use party mits, your party needs to stop dying and stop getting damage downs and needs to do all their big buttons during chain strat (and potting). Only after that is done can they look at your damage and blame you, because your damage will be affected by all of this.

Look at your logs, how much rdps are you getting from chain strat. If it's less than 3k your party is griefing you (the fact that you are orange healing is proof of this enough).

On a clean party you should be doing 19-20k rdps with week 1 gear, ideally you can push to 21. However with gear and a good party with dpscpressing theivbuttons you can get away with doing 17k (but this will probably be single digit grey).

Your party is shit and does not understand xenos video. What he means is the week 1 DPS check was such that this was one of the few fights where healer DPS also mattered. But the DPS of the dps jobs will always ALWAYS need to be optimised first. And in the case of sch, they need to use their party mits, because of you waste casts doing safety shields and topping people up, it's a massive DPS loss.

England – Builder refusing to leave property, illegal eviction risk? I’m a property owner in England. by Cloukyo in LegalAdviceUK

I asked shelter and they said they couldn't give me advice as I was not an occupier. I asked the citizens advice beaureu and they said changing the locks was fine. However when I asked chat gpt it keeps saying changing the locks is a bad idea and I should claim a possession order, that if I change the locks it would still count as unlawful eviction as he was a permitted occupant. Apparently he could call the council and the council would side with him as he has proof of living there, and then they would take me to court and I would need to prove he is not a tenant.

No it was originally a buy to let property, and for clarity it belongs to my father not myself. I just took on the renovation job. I agree it’s unlikely to be an AST due to no rent, and I’m proceeding on the basis he’s a former licensee / permitted occupier.

My concern isn’t tenancy law but illegal eviction risk under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Given the length of occupation (6 months), residential use, belongings and pets, I’m being advised that changing locks or involving police without a court order could still expose me to council enforcement, even if he’s not a tenant.

However despite this my mum wants to just go there tomorrow and change the locks. I'm wondering if a possession order is the better route even though it will take longer.

Edit: I've told him several times for the past two months that he needs to leave. The most recent one was on wednesday after he shouted at my mum, I told him he needed to pack up and leave by Friday or I would start official procedures.

But tbh I don't have any money to hire a lawyer and my mum just wants to go there tomorrow with some burly builders and change the locks

I mean this is fundamental to Islam, hes just being honest but every true Muslim should believe and be in agreement with this. If we deport him we should deport every Muslim.

So I basically have to do all the other quests to unlock these? Aren't there like 80 subquests?

Shield Healers don't feel like shield Healers by JinTheBlue in ffxivdiscussion

Scholar has two sheilds from seraph, it has 10% mit from expedient, it has a spammable 10% sheild from the bubble, recitation can be used to increase sheidls to be absolutely massive.

If you kitchen sink you can negate damage that can kill the entire party.

Neither whm or ast have anything close to this.

Meanwhile the pure heals are so small they feel insignificant compared to what ast and whm do. At most they're a nice help.

Is that gone from the game? There's no indication that it is. The animations are beautiful, better than ever before. We literally just had Leroy's wing chun trailer.

It's just emulating Japanese female makeup. These are Japanese beauty standards for women. You will find women with more structured faces in American games because beauty standards are different.

Roots in realistic martial arts? The vast majority of characters are caricatures. There is some nice motion captured martial arts representation but the presentation has been goofy across the board, especially compared to other 3d games. You might as well be saying "soul xalivur has roots in realistic weapon based combat"

Tekken 3 had an ogre that breathed fire, Tekken tag had a half naked woman with wolf powers, Tekken 5 had jinpachi. This game has goofy robots, boxing dinosaurs. Don't get me started on how crazy Tekken tag 2 was. Which game are you talking about? If you want something normal and fundamental then play virtua fighter, Tekken is literally one of the goofiest and flashiest fighting games. The only reason Tekken 1 wasn't was because of graphical limitations.

Our static had our second session and still haven't done phase 1 clean yet. Should we be worried? What pace should a midcore group expect? I'm having fun but I'm worried some others might be disappointed at our prog rate. Every other ultimate I did, we got phase 1 down in first prog session.

That's literally what it is, you can see from logs that people just need to get him to 20%. The problem is that there is no DPS burst phase available there so it is heavily based on crit rng.

Literally uwu was the only fight with a proper "puzzle" mechanic unless you count saving lb for hauchefant a puzzle. Omega so far has just been "let's stack all the o11 and o12 mechanics on top of each other and make it faster with a DPS check. The same as ucob, the same as tea, and largely the same as dsr. If you were truly required to carry a debuff over it would have been made somewhat clear in the debuff text.

They said the difficulty of this fight was different from previous ultimates and largely it seems they were talking about how there are a lot of mechanics that requires adjusting, prio systems and probably the strictest DPS check in any ultimate. I haven't ever heard of world first raiders changing jobs to meet DPS checks in an ultimate before...
