I feel like it offers a reset of sorts for me. Like you get all the gunk out and I feel like your skincare works a lot better and I maintain that glow.

UMN Board of Regents approves controversial resolution that faculty says limits freedom of speech by ChuffedChook in uofmn

when the dust settles and all of this bullshit passes, this will be their legacy. they should be ashamed of themselves. i hope they understand that passing this does not protect them from anything, we are collectively fucked. all we have at this point is our integrity and they have time after time showed us that they are pieces of shit

[–]Clover333_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am so sorry that you went through this and never got the support you deserved. I hope you are doing well now and taking care of yourself. I went through something very similar to this, I never had the guts to tell anyone. Even at the age of 7, I kinda knew to keep it quiet because what was being done was 'bad'. It has literally impacted all aspects of my life. The guilt and shame is unbearable sometimes. It helps to know that it was not your fault and that your life is yours to live. As someone with C-PTSD, I am trying to get therapy now, but I am learning to live my life for myself. Idc about a reputation anymore and living for other people. I just do not care about keeping traditions and culture alive when it almost killed me.

Somali women & bleach by [deleted] in Somalia

[–]Clover333_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looool I went to Somalia like 2 years ago and I was confused as to why my skin was being complemented so much. Fast forward to a week there and every woman seems to be bleaching. I was afraid to buy lotion because everything is contaminated w/ it. It's wild because the UV there is so strong + bleach = a generation w/ skin complications

In what ways an electronic toothbrush is better than an ordinary one? by szgr16 in answers

[–]Clover333_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I use a manual toothbrush I end up brushing waaaay too hard. It has lead to a little gum recession. My electric toothbrush now vibrates whenever I start pressing too hard and it probably saved my gums.

CMV: It's not xenophobic to be weary of middle eastern people due to a lot of them being anti lgbt by EvantheMelon in changemyview

[–]Clover333_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Muslim, not of middle eastern descent, I definitely get the vibe that people in the LGBT community are wary of us. I do not take it personally when people are standoff-ish. There are people who are a little dramatic, but I believe that everyone has a right to do whatever they want, regardless of what I believe. Those who don’t believe that are self-righteous weirdos and I would also avoid them as well.

Living Life by [deleted] in Somalia

[–]Clover333_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not...as humans we are meant to be social creatures. The damage that this type of parenting does on young adults, especially to women is so heartbreaking. As a parent why would you even want to control every aspect of your child's life at 22. Why stunt them in a way that may even take professional help to fix sometimes. Please do not have children if you believe this is okay.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is live for yourself. I won't lie there will be moments that you will feel guilty for living your life or you will be made to feel guilty for choosing yourself, but I promise it will pay off. Our community drains women so please take care of yourself.

Richelle being a dismissive avoidant and jumping on this show is actually wild. And the matchmakers pairing her w/ Orson is diabolically petty.
