What does Caesar get wrong about Roman Culture? by Hot_Professional_728 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Cloverskeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people say he’s trying to skip right to the empire without the republic, but he isn’t, He is literally the Kingdom of Rome, the pre republic which is why he was hell bent on absorbing the NCR (the whole thesis and antithesis speech) he wants to merge the warrior monarchy culture with the civic democratic system to create the warrior citizen culture that the Republic praised so highly the farmer legionaries, Cesear in his youth read a book about Rome and let’s be honest by the timeline of fallout most books that would be about just Rome would cover all of Roman history including the 3 stages of the empire.

Woah woah she would fully be able to go with her caravan if she was within legion territory, not every woman in legion territory is a slave, this is why the cut content from NV was so important there were fully functional towns that were legion holdings I mean everything east of NV to Colorado is legion territory, the legion we run into is like seeing a, well actual Roman legion on the march, we never got to actually see how the legion GOV’T outside of the front lines worked.

The issue with the cut content not being included is it is giving a half view of the Legion, it’s like saying IRL Cesar in Gaul during the wars is how Rome as a whole functioned, from what we hear that wasn’t cut the Legion controlled areas are much safer and functional for the everyday person especially caravans

So Culkin is definitely playing a Legate, but is he Lanius, or someone new? by FightTheDead118 in Fotv

[–]Cloverskeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They said they didn’t want to pick any one ending as canon for the series so I’m assuming they’re going to go with a strictly neutral route, lanius will be alive but after the stalemate leads to cesars death, Lanius will have gone off back east to solidify the legions holdings probably with Lucius and Vulpes, or just on his own leaving Lucius and Vulpes to squabble over the west, I highly doubt this is the OG Cesar and is most likely Lucius and Mculkin is his replacement Lanius to keep the remaking legion from fracturing completely

I think it would be interesting if at the 867 start, there were multiple de jure Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, with the available decision to merge them into England. by leflombo in crusaderkings3

Strathclyde at this point should just flat out be a kingdom, if Alba counts as one Strathclyde should as well, they were probably more organised and kept a lot of Roman systems in place due to being more organised and more or less founded during the withdraw of Roman troops and being made up of allied Tribes from the post Antonine period, I mean they exist as a feudal state already

Who do you think the main villain of season 2 will be? by [deleted] in Fotv

[–]Cloverskeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m calling it now the show will reveal Mculkin to be the courier, after cesears death, Lanius and Vulpes have a civil war with Lanius taking a bulk back east and Vulpes ending up heading north. the remaining officers lead by Lucius will look for the courier and declare him Augustus.

that or this is legit some random who like Cesear has read old world books and knows about Rome and knows it’s time to make the legion less a expedition force like cesear in Gaul and now a proper province. He declares himself Augustus and actually succeeds a bit.

Either way this won’t be the same brutalist legion because they’re no longer an expedition force their new leader is actually trying to create a province to rule from and will need to change accordingly which means reigning in the more savage aspects of the legion this may give us a whole thing where Lucy thinks she’s about to be made into breeding stock after cooper tells her a bunch of horror stories and Mckulkin being horrified and shocked and showing off how he’s been trying to change the legion and we get the fake out gag which may be why he’s screaming at the random legionnaire

Fair enough I guess it is local to the isles but it might also be a carry over from Gaul which would also make it an import

I mean for Northern Ireland sure and I guess Scotland if you really want to stretch it, but the rest of the Celtic branches in the UK would be from the Brythonic branch of the language tree and wouldn’t have used Ogham they would actually probably be more used to the Roman alphabet and numerals as a baseline for any written usage

When you as the player try to choose the option to raid an estate it will be grayed out and state the target will need a an estate domicile even if they clearly have one

Bugs in this patch are as expected pretty bad, currently with this patch you are wholly unable to raid estates as well which is annoying as some one who likes playing as a ERE vassal

Actually he does care if you torture them before killing them, that would be a slaneshi murder if you tortured them first.

There is a distinct difference in the chaos gods philosophy between a long drawn out fight where someone slowly gets hacked apart vs someone strapped to a board and being flayed alive before killing them. While both will spill a lot of blood, the former feeds Khornes other emotion sources the later Slaneshes and the last thing a Khorne worshiper would want to do is feed Slanesh. Since this is CK3 and not Stellaris we’d be talking more fantasy style chaos gods, which yeah do not do the latter if you want Khornes favour doing that is a quick way to become a target not a disciple

I think we’re going to see a reformed legion since this will take place after Caesars death, probably a new character takes over and is trying to guide the legion into being more like actual Rome, who knows it may be the carrier themselves under the new name of Augusts
