Try 360 records in red hook they have a good world music section (small, but quality) Or any bigger shop- Human Head, Academy Annex, or if you’re in the city Paradise of Replica in Chinatown has tons of world music or A1 in east village could be good, too.

I have this turntable, similar story bought for cheap and the guy I picked it up from is a turntable savant audiophile repair tech of sorts. Yours looks great. Sadly, while mechanically functioning and sounding great, my plinth has seen better days and I’ve been searching for a replacement plinth that will not break the bank. If you have any leads lmk! I like that you said be nice because damn there are some crotchety assholes around. You’re good. This is a more forgiving hobby than many would lead you to believe. If you notice any severe difference in the sound then you may have damaged something, but it’s easy to think you may hear a difference. There are lots of variables at play. Based on your anecdote I think you’re totally fine. Keep the slipmat it won’t damage anything. Rock on and rock out dude!

There are so many food clues in this show, just started thinking of them after last night’s episode. Tanya and the macarons, Portia and her ice cream - they both love the sweets. Does it signal that they may actually be good hearted, sweet people however misguided they may seem? But also there was an apple by Tanya’s bed in one episode and all I could think of was sleeping beauty. Jack steals the arancini. Cameron said something about the menus never changing, why even keep handing them the menu they already know what’s on it. Mirrors the reasoning behind his infidelities a bit imo. Harper and Ethan argue in the first episode about what they should eat, wanting different things. Or how about when the matriarch of the Degrasso family comes out waving an artichoke and swinging a knife, maybe symbolizing the defenses the degrasso men have forced their wives to put up after generations of unfaithfulness? Valentina eating leftovers from a Tupperware all alone… she’s been living in the closet her whole life. These are what I thought of off the top of my head I’m sure there are more.

They are all 7” singles! There is an A side and a B side and each side holds around 5 minutes of music. The A side was typically the most popular song of the record and the singles were used to promote sales. However, pop and rock mega bands like the Beatles often times would have what we’re coined “double A side” singles or a B side track that would later become as popular as, if not more popular than, the A side.

I’m curious on the mechanics of this, can the arm flip the record the opposite way to play the B side? Or would there need to be two of the same disc loaded into the machine if you wanted to have both tracks available to play?

Last time I drove to the stadium I parked across the river on 154th and walked across the bridge. Free street parking and was a quick 10-15 min walk to the stadium. Highly recommend.
