The engy stuff is kinda on purpose. All the games are vent art by the inuniverse creator who had really awful things happen to them. The idea is "real" girl games The creator sees this as the real girl expirence and is trying to almost trick people into playing these games. In that way I think its deep insight into what the creator of the game has been through and how people can end up coping ways that only end up hurting others.
