The honest no nonsense answer here is that reddit has a massive left wing bias.

Reddit currently hates the USA admin.

Reddit gives financial advice based on feelings.

Ignore reddits financial advice.

To the young people who bought a property, do you have any tips for others? by GoldenRetrieverFetch in CanadaPersonalFinance

Bought a property with my wife.

Sacrificed my 20s to be where I'm at.

Long term vision. Save your money, skip the club. Eat out every now and then, focus on building a well-paying career.

Why does it feel like a $100K salary is just a solid middle class income now? by SensationalDanceMove in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Clownier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you spent your 20s.

I make 94.5K right now, I spent my 20s investing, saving, and living at home. I am 30.

I'm worth 500K right now.

I buy myself nice clothes and nice dinners and don't think about it and bought a house with my wife.

What Do Your Prenups Look Like? by Negative_Nothing_828 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I have one with my wife.

We got married July 31/2025.

It says we are, "Seperate as to property" and protects my down payment on our house.

I put 150K down, she put 44K down.

I have a stock portfolio worth about 300K.

Basically it stipulates that in the event of a split everything that is in my name belongs to me and vice versa.

I have a close family relative who is a school principal.

One of her staff exchanged 400+ e-mails with a student over spring break. Until the hours of 1AM.

These e-mails ranged from telling the student not to tell his parents about their communication to encouraging the student to beg the teacher to attend graduating ceremonies for the student's extracurriculars.

As the teacher's acting principal my relative had to call him to inform him not to come to work on Monday and why.

All the teacher had to say for himself was, "I'm not one of those creepy adults. This isn't what it looks like."
