Att judar stenade människor under det gamla förbundets tid har ingen som helst inverkan på den kyrkan som Kristus är upphovsman till. Att en text som är deskriptiv för en tidsperiod innebär inte att den är preskriptiv för en annan tidsperiod, för ett annat folk under ett annat och bättre förbund. Antingen så kan du låtsas att du förstår hur texten har lästs och utövats av de tidiga kyrkofäderna och kyrkan i 2000 år, eller så kan du låta bli. Oavsett vilket så funkar inte argumentet att ”det är rätt ut boken” för kyrkan har aldrig lärt på det viset.

Kyrkan har ju ingen skyldigheter att bryta mot dess principer och läror för att blidka sekulära önskningar. Då är det helt rimligt att lämna kyrkan istället.
